I'm not even sure Rollins is better on the bases, he's just faster which as we talked about with Utley doesn't mean he's a better baserunner but Im willing to say Rollins is better at that than Werth.  Even then Werth is still so much better with the bat it doesn't make up the difference.

position in the order has a minimal impact on performance.  a position's player value comes mostly from their bat.  thats just the nature of the game.  werth isn't a slouch with the glove either, he covers a lot of ground and has a great arm.

your nerd statistics aside do you realize how much more valuable a gold glove SS is compared to an above average right fielder? I mean, Ozzie Smith had an average bat but because he was one of the best fielding SS in history he's in the HOF.

Yes, I took into account the difference in position and if Rollins was anything above average with the bat anymore you'd definitely be right that he is more valuable, but he's not.

ice grillin you

the problem is you dont watch games you just go by stats

rollins is the leader of the team...shtein like that doesnt show up in box scores...next time you do watch a game check out jimmy during mound visits...his command and presence there is something to behold

werth has real nice numbers dont get me wrong but you could plug any of a dozen other players into right field for the phillies and they become jayson werth

jimmy is almost irreplaceable

You could have just stopped there

his response is gonna be "but I haven't missed a game in x amount of years", which will just make his stance that much worse, it's why people who number crunch shouldn't be in charge of the front office, I mean, they have their place but as far as player personel decisions go it's best to leave it up to people that know the game.

hes played two years inside an incredibly gifted lineup in a home run hitters park and has averaged approx .270 - 30 hr - 80 rbi

thats nice and i love his production...but i could reel off a bunch of players that could do the same thing in his position...to me his arm is what seperates him from some other guys but not so much that you would ever say hes better or more important to this team than jimmy

Considering I played baseball up to a higher level than most of you, watch more games and read more than all of you it's cute you think you know more.  Having a guy that says "we are gonna win 100 games" sitting on the bench when you are at bat does not make you hit a ball any better. It's entertaining, but the idea that leadership outside of being a hard worker  which might rub off on someone and which Jimmy is not known for, has any kind of real impact  is crazy.

I knew the "I played the game" line was coming sooner or later...you are just the type of douchebag to use that.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

He made it a level above Tee ball i guess.

and I was going to include that in my post but I figured he didn't since he's asking for advice on how to gain weight and can't crack 150 lbs.
