This.

And Joe, really? Kolb brings the glimmer of excitement to your feelings on the season if HE were leading the way?

haha. Right. He OOZES excitement. I just get giddy over the thought.

I agree on the whole Reid thing but we all know he is not going anywhere.  As far as excitement, yeah I would be more excited to see Kolb have a shot.  I don't know about the whole oozing thing.  Really this is all a moot point to discuss this with you, your mind is already made up on Kolb.

Rome

I just see them cutting guys left and right without any obvious plan to replace them.  Another year of McNabb, three more of Reid's bullshtein and, well... here we are again.

While they are cutting as many as they can get away with, some of the cuts were guys who could be replaced by any camp body at this point in their careers. Curtis, Westbrook, Andrews at least.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Magical_Retard

thats the whole problem. the only plan in place every off season is to get younger. which would be fine cept they cut veterans left and right with no legit back ups, new comers, or rookies.

they let dawkins walk with no real plan to replace him and just the assumption that demps would start and excel.

dont care one bit about howard and andrews getting cut but they were already part of a weak unit (the DL and OL) and no significant upgrades have been made.

they need to do to the defense what pimp mack and shady did to the offense...easier said than done of course but they badly need an influx of athletes on that side of the ball

i'm all for them drafting a great class, but even if they do, chances are they do little for them in 2010.  as great as pimp was in 2008, he was still only a rookie.  he really didn't take off until his second year.  and look at maclin & shady... they both hit the wall last year to a certain extent.  that's why counting on rookies to contribute is fairly stupid.  hell, reid himself rarely starts them because he knows they're so overmatched in the beginning.

ice grillin you

totally agree which is what i was saying a week or so ago in some thread about there being nothing btwn now and the season opener that will make this team better

I'll just settle for making myself believe every year that this is the year he stops throwing it 63% of the time and commits to the run more.

It never works, but it's a good way to make yourself watch with some hope.

I think Rome's problem like many of us Eagles fans is that as long as 5 is still under center it is hard to get too excited.
Luckly for me, as long as #7 is on the team, I don't care what they do.
I'm not from Philly but some say I'm blunt.

Do you actually sit there with a calculator and root for a run/pass percentage?
