Ashomuah or whatever would be a coup, no doubt, but I'd still want a draft pick.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Eagles to reportedly work out Arizona DT

Arizona defensive tackle Earl Mitchell has a workout scheduled with the Eagles, a league source tells Joe Fortenbaugh of the National Football Post.

Mitchell (6-3, 295) started his college career as a tight end before switching to the defensive line for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. He had six sacks last year. Wes Bunting of the National Football Post has Mitchell ranked as the 24th-best defensive tackle prospect.

Earlier this month, Tony Pauline of SI.com put Mitchell in his "Risers" category for his combine workout:

Mitchell looked amazingly athletic for a defensive tackle who weighed in at 296. He was fast in the 40, twice breaking 4.75 seconds on stop watches, then practiced to that speed during drills. Mitchell was quick moving to the sidelines, displayed a burst in a straight line and was constantly applauded by coaches throughout the morning.

Per the report, Mitchell will workout for the Cardinals as well.

Earlier we wrote about the Birds taking a look at West Virginia offensive lineman Selvish Capers.

And don't forget to check out our updated list of prospect workouts and visits.

McNabb update

The report making the rounds today is from ESPN's Adam Schefter. Schefter reports that the Raiders have emerged as the front-runners for Donovan McNabb and that they are not concerned with him being in the final year of his contract.

We heard the same thing from Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports last week.

Let's remember a couple things here.

One, the Eagles are a franchise that kept the Michael Vick interest and signing completely under wraps until the deal was announced during that preseason game in August.

And the Raiders are run by Al Davis, meaning no one knows what they're capable of.

In other words, it is very difficult to know if something's close to getting done, or if a trade is nowhere near completion.
"The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.""  R.I.P George.

i would trade mcnabb and samuel straight up for azz in a heartbeat...wouldnt even need a pick

samuel is a cancer who can be controlled in a locker room like new england had...not here tho

and mcnabb would be addition by subtraction

How is Samuel a cancer?  I hadn't heard of any problems but did you find some articles?  I thought Sheldon Brown was the unhappy one, with the contract that he voluntarily signed and wished he never had.

The Eagles have announced a private workout with Michigan punter Zoltan Mesko.  Name test is either a FAIL or a MEGAPASS.

You may have a future working for PFT.

there was a lot of talk this year about not being  coachable...completely ignoring directives...not studying film...basically not following the defense thats called on the field and instead always going for pick sixes...lack of effort in tackling and even more a lack of desire to get better at it...personally i could care less about the tackling...hes not that kind of player...but not being a a team guy and ignoring coaches is troubling

dont get me wrong i dont want to release him or anything and i love having a playmaker there but i wouldnt even blink if i thought i could get azz for him
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

I thought i heard he studies film all the time so he can pick up on qb and wr stuff where they tip off plays?  Exactly the reason why he had 9 int's because he knew what route they were running

getting him for Sameul straight up is a no brainer--its just when igy wants to throw in a 33 yr old franchise qb on top of it for free is where the problem lies

rjs246

How about McNabb can franchise these nuts. What now?

no his jump on balls and reading quarterbacks is second to none...if you completely ignore all repsonsibilities except to watch a qb then of course youre gonna jump routes a lot

but he is not a good novacare guy according to a lot of reports that circle the team...i suppose they could all be lies but from watching him in games i believe there is more than enough smoke for their to be fire
