This move ensures that we'll be sitting here this time next year wondering how the Eagles are gonna "fix" the FS position. It also ensures that Jackson will be a FA next year once the Eagles give him 8 games to show this is a bad move.

No real risk.

Wrong. Very wrong. This guy will be starting at FS going into the season. Then he'll blow out his knee...again. And then they'll be stuck with Demps back there...again.

Seeing how this team has run shop over the years, I actually see this as a potentially high-risk move.

How is this not Stacy Andrews Round II?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

this move pumps me up to send my ticket money in.

the only way this isnt a risk is if this is one part of a master plan to move up and draft eric berry

Well they aren't getting Eric Berry and not likely to get Earl Thomas either.  I am pretty sure they will add some other safety help in the draft.  My point is for what is out there, this isn't a big risk.

And here is where my problem lies. The team completely farged up the Dawkins situation last year, never found a replacement for him throughout the 09 season, and now they plan on moving a CB with 2 blown knees to FS and people are fine with it because "it's whats out there".

It's only out there though because the front office put themselves in this position. It didn't have to be this way.

the worst smelling thing about it is that they didnt make a serious run at rolle and instead sat around and watched him sign with a division rival and then 10 minutes later signed a guy with no knees...im not saying they 100% should have signed rolle as the competition in this years free agency was thick...but the way it all went down looks embarrassingly bad for the eagles

For the record, I think Rolle is overrated for what he is, and the Giants gave him way too much money, but not only would he have been a better option than Jackson, he had been a vocal on-field guy for the Cards for years..something that was sorely missed last year.

The fact that Thomas (who I have a mancrush on) and Mays (who I'm not crazy about) will both be gone by #24 means to me that the FO feels they did what they needed to do in addressing the FS this offseason - and considering how this deal went down strikingly similar to the way the Sean Jones deal did last year, it makes me want to go on a rampage.

overrated and overpaid by the giants ? but like you said he would've fit here very nicely.

but of course like that bearded vagface on WIP always says this front office knows more than we do.  ::)

I meant currently, those guys aren't on the market.  As far as Ryan Clark you saw how good he was last year when he didn't have Polamalu next to him.  I hope they draft one early there are some solid guys that will probably be 2nd or 3rd round picks.

I agree on the Dawkins thing, but not much can be done about that now.

Fine, but I refuse to just throw my hands up and accept whoever this FO tells me is a "good fit" at the position, when we all know that the FS position is one that should have been set - at the least, throughout the 2010 season.

People (mainly non-Eagles fans) generally feel that Eagles fans reaction to Dawks departure is already a dead horse, but I think its pretty obvious that it was a step backward that they are still paying for.
