i know brady quinn is still a huge unknown at this point, but does anyone else think that heckert practically gave him away for nothing?  obviously you can't get return value by way of a first round pick for him but i would have thought that a 4th or possibly even a 3rd would have been attainable.

reese125

Yep. His value dropped based on the poor outings, as Im sure (well...not really) Heckert was trying to get more but couldnt. Just giving up a 6th in 2011 and a conditional late-round pick in 2012 is great for Denver...especially if this guy starts... which I think he does at some point next year.

Sgt PSN

yeah, i think it was a great trade for denver and if quinn develops into even just a servicable starting quarterback then browns fans should start pelting heckert with beer bottles.

I just realized that ftw means 'for the win'. I thought it meant 'farg the world' for like the last 2 years. I think I like it my way better.

Do teams take future cap hits for this un-capped season?
I heard some NFL insider guy say it might affect the teams down the line.

If there is no penalty...then they teams should be cutting bait left and right and dumping guys, even more than they already do. I.E. Andrews etc with no penalty.

from my understanding no cap thus no penalty...anyone who goes this year is erased completely from this years and any future years books

Remaining bonus money spread over multiple seasons still has to be paid in full this year, so they don't completely disappear budget-wise, but unlike years past, you don't have to worry about it eating up cap space that could be used towards a roster spot...

Seattle gets Charlie Whitehurst from San Diego for a swap of 2nds this year and a 3rd next year

reese125

the Chargers front office is doing keg stands right now with that deal they just got for him

Seriously. Who the farg is charlie whitehurst and who the farg cares what the answer to that first question is?
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

If they're dropping 20 spots in the 2nd and giving up a 3rd, they think he's Hasselbeck's replacement at a cheaper price than what they would've had to give up for Kolb.  He was good at Clemson but had zero chance of seeing the field behind Rivers...
