Wrong.  He's just a player who choked every time he was presented with an opportunity to win the big one.  Every single solitary time.  And for every missed opportunity he gave us increasingly laughable excuses and reasons why he was never at fault for those losses.

Goodbye and good riddance to that loser.

So who is the best QB in team history then?

McNabb is one of the reasons this team became relevant again.

This can unfortunately be said for every QB, coach, and player for the Eagles since 1960. McNabb's just the most recent and best example, and a bigger target because as Jay said, he's the best QB in franchise history.

If they're still SB-less in 30 years, the ire will be directed at whoever the next great franchise QB that couldn't win the big one is.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

who gives a shtein who the best qb in eagles history is?  have any of them in the last 45 years won a farging super bowl?  no.  that makes all of them losers in my book, especially mcnabb considering the number of opportunities he had to win one.

QB Eagles

All true:

- He's the greatest Eagles QB ever (and definitely in our lifetimes)
- He's corny
- He's a passive aggressive bitch
- He will never win the Super Bowl
- It was time to move on and go with the promising young QB, and if it's not Kolb, find another

Thanks for all the great games and memories, 5. I'll like you more when a) you aren't a motherfarging taterskin, b) the memories of your puking, your choking, your worm burners, your lame manufactured controversies, your unfunny cornball behavior, and all the rest become somewhat faded, but the electric highlight reels still remain.

MDS

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Not sure if it was posted, but Ingram had surgery to remove a cyst from the back of his knee.

I have always been a big McNabb supporter but his act had worn thin.  Biggest problem with him I have is he always proved the critics right.  That and his constant excuse making.  That is a blatant lie he told about the OT snafu.

I defended McNabb for years. Not because I thought he was infallable...I just thought he would ultimately pull through one time, even if accidentally. The loss to the cardinals was pretty much the end of it for me. I remember watching the two Dallas games last year and finally realizing that for the most part what you saw in the first quarter would let you know what you saw the whole game.

He may be the greatest statistical QB ever, but when i think of "great eagles of all time" or "great eagles of my lifetime" he isn't on either list.

To me, he never came off as football smart, and that's what I always tried to fruitlessly defend. Second half adjusments? Late playcalls? I have this feeling now that Reid did a lot to cover McNabbs flaws. I guess we'll see what happens this year as to whether or not i was right. But I have a feeling we won't see the same time management issues and failure to adjust issues as we have in the past.
