Just stupid

Is there anybody more full of shtein than Andy Reid? He says there is a good chance they keep all three QBs for the upcoming season.

Witherspoon isn't worth $5M, even though LB is the weakest position on the team, but Vick's 1.2 yards per play average out of the Wilddog is. What a bunch of idiots.

After the first couple games Witherspoon was pretty awful. He's basically a backup MLB on this team. Jordan is a better WILL LB. Sneeze on Witherspoon and he's out of the play.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.

witherspoon wasn't awful.  he was an above average linebacker who was surrounded by incompetent linebackers who were surrounded by a largely incompetent defense.  he's not all world but he's a nice player to have if you can surround him with other quality players....which is something that the eagles don't, won't, can't do.

The BIGSTUD

What do you think he did well then? He was poor against the run, he couldn't get off blockers, and often took bad angles. I forget which Dallas loss it was, but the one of them Barber busted a couple nice runs. Both runs were on Witherspoon. He can move pretty well and drop back into coverage, but it wasn't like he was great at it or anything. Had a great first game against the taterskins and then didn't really do much for the entire season. I just got tired of seeing him get completely engulfed by blockers without a prayer of shedding and making a play.

Bradley and Jordan are better players. Witherspoon was the 3rd best LB on the team, but that isn't saying much since the rest are garbage. I was a fan of the pickup at the time too, so I have no reason to hate on the guy. He just didn't do much.

Even if your inaccurate nonsense were accurate, are teams in the habit of cutting the third best player at a position that requires three starters?
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

sarge pretty much said it right

this isnt a corner we're talking about here where your exposed man on man 8 times out of 10

the LB core works in conjunction with the d-line and feeds off them. not to mention the multiple changes that go on and switches at the line of scrimmage

if the communication is not there (which I can bet was not with the multiple switches at the MLB position this year) and the d-line is not doing their job you become exposed....and imo witherspoon got the short end of the stick. is he all world? hell no. is he decent enough to have on this team with a LB unit as inefficient as the eagles--absolutely. so unless they have a contingency plan where they wait for more LB's to be cut on other teams or draft a 1st rd LB this move makes no sense relying on bradley and jordan.

Seabiscuit36

it makes no sense other than they could basically save a 5 million a year contract from their books in this uncapped year.  Nice to know that they're using this to position themselves to have more cap room than they can spend again.  :puke

It's accurate, but this I'm assuming they will make additions to LB. If they go into the season with this exact group, then it will make no sense.

According to National Football Post Marlin Jackson is going to visit the Eagles after he visits the Ravens.

talk about an overhyped player coming out of college.  I forgot he was even in the league

He has actually had a pretty decent career thus far, he was hurt last season.  But he has played well.
