What I'm getting at is the fact that he's a 29 year old rookie who was third on the depth chart for most of the year and is only playing because Brian Boucher is hurt. SD suggested locking him up long term and I'm suggesting that it might be just a tad early to make that call. He had a nice W/L record this year but his save % was like .905. Not exactly hall of fame stuff. Everyone just settle down and enjoy the run. Let's not go smooching his beanbag just yet.

Lets look at the situation: There's nobody else out there and even if there were the Flyers don't have the cap space. For 34 year old Vokoun the Panthers wanted Carter, so the price for a decent goalie is ridiculous. Leighton has proven himself the entire season, then gets thrown into a playoff game and still plays well. Leighton isn't Boucher. Boucher is a streaky goalie who plays well in spurts. Sign Leighton long term, at worse he's a good backup and he's gonna come on the cheap.

I have no idea why they started chanting the ole' chant but it was god damn loud.

wait till the series goes to montreal and youll know why....their fans do it about a thousand times a period

It's all coming back to me now, that and the corny U2 song they play when they score. And their fans cheering when one of their players gets knocked down then boo'ing when they don't get a penalty.

the flyers have to pounce this team tomorrow night. not suggestion they will be able to produce another thottle job like game 1 but if the team can take both at home you gotta like the flyers chances to get to the cup.

PS. giroux is badass.
If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'Donnel a fatass.

As great as Flyers fans are (when I say great I mean loyal and loud) they're no comparison to most of the teams in canada, especially Habs fans.

There were 3 girls with Canadiens jersey's on walking through the concourse, getting harassed bigtime, and loving every moment of it. Probably the same girls.

Because that's all they have up there. Hockey. Oh, and booing the US National Anthem.

Which will make it even more satisfying if they win.

I was there for Game 5 in 08' when they clinched the series. The place is awesome and the fans are as loud as any place I've been to. The siren that goes off when the score is cool too..

And the booing of the anthem thing is just ridiculous. When they did it, my buddy and I started singing it at the top of our lungs so they booed us. farging frogs.

Habs fans on HF Boards  are suggesting they do E-A-G-L-E-S chants to piss off flyer fans..lmao

Flyers center Jeff Carter made his first appearance on the ice since breaking his right foot today at the Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone. Carter was on the ice for about 15 minutes by himself, skating laps around the rink and shooting a few pucks at the net before he left for the locker room. He did not take part in the team's practice immediately afterwards.

Carter was hurt in Game 4 of the first round series with the New Jersey Devils on April 20, when he was hit with a slap shot by Chris Pronger while stationed in front of the net on a power play. Carter scored on the rebound, his second of the game in a 4-1 Flyers win.

He had surgery on the foot three days later.

The 6-3, 200-pound London, Ontario native led the Flyers in goals in the regular season with 33. He fractured his left foot on March 21 against Atlanta, causing him to miss eight games down the stretch.

We will get more on this story as it develops.

They're saying best case for a return is late in the series...and Holmgren will update later.

Flyers skated today, Montreal did not.
