its not even that we've had more, its that any of them were called.  ITs the playoffs, not a tea party.

do i need to say what you know im gonna say
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

They completely outplayed the Devils tonight, the only reason this game went to OT is because of Broduer. farg yeah Carcillo.

Absolutely. I even said that I thought Brodeur was going to steal the game.

I don't think I breathed during the entire OT. haha

Laviolettes postgame was great
QuotePHILADELPHIA — Flyers coach Peter Laviolette sees a trend in this first round playoff series against the New Jersey Devils and he wants it to end.

Although the Flyers hold a 2-1 edge in the series, they have skated on the wrong side of their coach's disciplinary tight rope and they will hear about it today.
"I'm very disappointed in the penalties we took," Laviolette said after the Flyers killed off six of eight penalties Sunday in their 3-2 overtime win. "They were lazy penalties. Too many hooks and hold ups. We need to let our legs do the work and keep our sticks on the ice. I'm also disappointed there weren't more infractions the other way."
Through three games, the Flyers have killed off 13 of the Devils' 16 power plays. The Devils have killed off 11 of the Flyers' 15 power plays. That, in essence, has been the difference in the series.

But if the Flyers continue to take the penalties they committed on Sunday, they believe they won't be playing a week from now. Nine different Flyers took penalties on Sunday. Six were stick infractions for hooking, tripping or slashing.
"There's too much skill on that team," Ian Laperriere said, "and if you give them five or six power plays they're going to burn you."

The GW OT goal that was scored on Clarkson's penalty was a Joke and a half.  Again it comes down to playoff hockey, dont call anything unless its very obvious, and impedes the game.  Let them Play.  I think Laviolette did a great job just making the point that they took Lazy penalties, in his presser he said that They cant put themselves in position to get those penalties, but didnt dispute that they were just Lazy.  I love that type of coaching, dont blame, and use that adversity to make you a better team.

ice grillin you

flyer fans could take a lesson from the coach

last night was the best game they played all year...yeah they have had games where theyve scored more goals and blew some teams out but from the first line to the last and from defenseman 1 to defesneman 6 there wasnt one player who had a bad game...even hartnells normal bonehaded plays he cancelled out with some really good play as well

the play of the game tho that went kind of unoticed was gange knocking fraser off the puck on richards goal...just a fantastic hit...you know its the playoffs when the frog is knocking people around

btw the crowd gets an A+ as well...ive been to a lot of flyer playoff games in my life and that was the loudest first round crowd in the history of the wachovia center
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

The officiating is laughable at this point.

Devils 7
Flyers 3

Last game
Devils 9
Flyers 5

Last two games it's 16-8

Fair and Balanced

And it's not even the crap calls the Devils are getting, just call it both ways.

MDS

pg has to be a charter member of the 5 excuse train and the flyers cry about the refs squad

god you people give philly sports fans a bad name

No way MDS, you're 100% wrong.

The calls against the Flyers? Yeah, they're penalties. No doubt about it.

Its the NON calls against the Devils that is just horrendous right now. They're getting away with EVERYTHING. Call it both ways or stick the whistle down your throat and stfu.
