The amazing thing was after Delhomme's brutal season, especially the 5-pick playoff, he got that crazy ass contract. He is terrible.

Which will make it even more infuriating to see him carve up the Eagles on Sunday.

Although it appears the Panthers have kick and punt return issues, so perhaps they will suffer the same week one fate as the Eagles did a few years ago.

Wonder if Andy can pass along Reno Mahe's number to them.

The BIGSTUD

The only shot he has of carving up the Eagles is if they run the ball all over us and they have put more in the box and they get play action with Smitty. Other than that, Delhomme doesn't have a lot of passing weapons. The Eagles have questions at LB, but are loaded at DB. Say what you want about Macho, but even if he sucks you can cover up a mediocre safety if your corners and other safety all play well.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Pretty sure they can just get the number off the Chickie & Pete's website.

Less the ball is in the hands of delhomme, better they have at winning. thats why they are a run first team. delhomme can do a decent job at QB when they run an offense like that. if they establish the run then we might be in for a long day of playing catch up and pass, pass, pass. we all know how that usually turns out.

I'm pretty sure Vick, Favre, and whoever's starting in Denver and Cleveland are all worse than Delhomme.

He's not the worst in the NFL, but there aren't many good QBs in the NFL.

Worse starting QBs in the NFL worse than Delhomme:

Kyle Orton
Byron Leftwich
Kerry Collins
Favre
Jamarcus Russell
Matt Cassel
Shaun Hill
Brady Quinn as of right now hasn't proven shtein.
Stafford hasn't proven shtein
Possibly Romo. Romo will put up better numbers, but Delhomme has been good in the playoffs(aside from last year). Romo chokes.

Jason Campbell and Garrard and headed in that direction too, but aren't there yet. I used to think Garrard was good, but every time I look at his stats he is always 12/26 170 yards,  1 TD  2 INTs.
It amazes me that there are, what ,112 D-1 college teams in the league graduating starting QB's at a minimum every 4 years and more like every 2, and there is only about 15 quality NFL QB's. That is a pretty amazing failure rate from college to the NFL.

i dont think its a matter of IF they can establish the run...

the determining factor in this game is how much time does the line give mcnabb because if they hook him up the eagles can outscore carolina even WHEN the panthers are running the ball well

half the d-1 qb's are wr's or rb's playing qb....its the hardest position in professional sports...plus when you consider every d-1 college team has at least two rb's and three wr's i think the ratio of quality wr's and rb's in the nfl is less at those positions

actually right now we are in a golden age for qb's...you have  HOF veterans like warner - brady - manning - farve and a sick young(ish) class of qb's.....ryan - flacco - cutler - rivers - brees - rodgers

looks like Abiamiri will be starting ahead of Juqua, and Mays is out with a shoulder injury

rjs246

Abiamiri starting? I'm not sure how I feel about that. It's confusing and arousing and I think I came. But just barely.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

He's #1 on the depth chart. i thought Juqua was the def. starter. Guess the new coach is switching it up a bit with him and Macho...

Juqua got busted for weed, so he lost his starting job obviously

abiamiri makes more sense against a running team...."starting" for him most likely means he plays DE on first and second down and then gives way to juqua clemons et al

btw im on record as saying clemons will have a big year....im hoping for double digit sacks from him

i really like Clemmons, he came on last year after getting healthy, and was strong during the final 6 weeks.

clemons has 17 career sacks and 12 of them have come in weeks 10-16

he needs to start better this year

QuoteBut at Thursday night's preseason game against the Pittsburg Steelers he says, "This little feller in a red shirt said I needed to sit down, and I said, 'I've been doing this for 14 years. You got to be kidding.' Next thing I know there was a posse of cops, a deputy sheriff and Charlotte police escorted me to security."

Nejberger says Panthers security never gave him a reason for booting him from the stands. He says they just told him, "You have to go or we're going to have to put you in jail."

feller? Is Larry The Cable Guy a Panthers fan?
