The disgraced NFL star received a harsher sentence than the others in the federal conspiracy case because of "less than truthful" statements about killing pit bulls.

Vick said he accepted responsibility for his actions, but U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson said he wasn't so sure.

"I'm not convinced you've fully accepted responsibility," Hudson told Vick, who arrived in court wearing the black-and-white striped prison uniform he was issued when he voluntarily surrendered Nov. 19 to begin serving his sentence early.

His sentence probably would have been 6 months or so if he had just come clean in the beginning.

In all honesty I love dogs, have had them my whole life. I raised 3 pitbulls when I lived in SD, but I could really give a rats ass about any of this. He's entertaining and the Eagles are winning.

much less care more about dogs than other animals...far more atrocities take place on a daily basis against farm animals than dogs

While this is true, the fact is Vick is a polarizing figure and brought to light a topic that most people never considered or just ignored.  I agree with Sarge's previous point dude paid his debt.

The issue is that murderers and rapists of humans are getting an easier shake from many than Vick, who served his time.

It's not about humans having to be better than dogs.  How about a level playing field?
