the biggest remaining issue here is what kind of suspension will goodell hand out?  it could be anywhere up to 6 games.  i don't think it will be that long though.  in fact, i think that the longest he goes is 4 weeks and comes back after they bye.

Like a stock undervalued for the wrong reasons, is there any thought that this is merely a 1.5mm flyer to lock him for two years? If he blows you cut and go. but if not, could this not prove to be a significant trade advantage for a real need later?

Say the eagles "rehabilitate" him to the rest of the league and he can still play reasonably well - he may well be worth a trade for need or those high draft picks Cap'n Andy oh-so-covets. The Eagles will have removed the stigma of those too frightened to be non-pc, allowing them cover thus raising his value considerably.

With each "electrifying" play the stock goes up incrementally.

The interesting part of the signing is that Vick won't take up a roster spot in the first five weeks of the season, effectively giving the Eagles an extra player through Oct. 12. It is possible commissioner Roger Goodell could allow him to play during the first five weeks, but the commissioner doesn't have to make that decision now. A ruling could come a week or two before the start of the regular season.

So the Eagles can carry 54 into October even if Vick can play before then? Wha?
