BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Juqua Parker has been arrested on a marijuana possession charge in northeast Pennsylvania.

Lower Saucon Township police said Parker was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation at 12:33 a.m. ET Wednesday near the Eagles' training camp at Lehigh University.

Parker was found to be in possession of "a small amount of marijuana" and was taken to Northampton County Prison, police said. Parker was released after posting $1,000 bail later Wednesday morning, a prison official said.

Eagles coach Andy Reid said he was aware of the incident.

"It's in the law's hands right now. As time goes on, I'll know more," Reid said.

Reid said the team curfew was 1 a.m. ET.

QuoteDrug charges dropped against Juqua Parker

During the Eagles' 2009 training camp, defensive tackle Juqua Parker was arrested for possession of marijuana. But now those charges have been dropped.

The arrest came after a police officer said he saw marijuana under the passenger seat of a van being driven by Eagles offensive lineman Todd Herremans. Parker was sitting in the passenger seat when Herremans was pulled over and was arrested, but the Morning Call reports that the district attorney believed the arresting officer was wrong to search the car.

"You can't just go and search the car," District Attorney John Morganelli told the paper. "There was no basis for it."

Herremans was cited for making an illegal left turn and driving without headlights and paid $185 in fines.

So it's Herremans car but you assume its Parker's stash.  It's always the black man that gets blamed, isn't it?

it's a good thing we invested time and money into investigating this alleged crime.  surely there's nothing better our cops, courts and newspapers could be doing

I would be very interested to see stats on how much money the US spends annually versus an estimated intake of revenue for legalization and taxation of the squeef.

Not interested enough to look up the numbers myself, mind you, but interested.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

My favorite stories are the ones that start off with "After 3 months of investigating, XYZ police force arrested 3 individuals for their part in a small-time deal bust." They seem to do that often round my parts - they also seem to spend a ridiculous amount of time uncovering local brothels. It seems pretty simple to me - if I'm somewhere and I'm being offered sex for money, I'm in a brothel..doesn't seem like it would take a full month to realize.

Gateway drug? Or something like that...the "war on drugs" is a joke anyway.
