Quote"He was able to lose some weight and he was very effective with the taterskins in the preseason," said Eagles coach Andy Reid, a weight-control expert. "He's really just carried that over to what he's doing now. You never know when you bring them in how they're going to fit into your system."

As things stand now, the cap ends after this season but the CBA won't expire until after 2010. I'd expect the year and a day thing is part of the CBA but not the cap, so would still be in force through next season.

Bwest back at practice If he has anyting left in the tank then this is the time to show it. This team needs all the offense it can get with Reid playing 'name that linebacker' every week.

i guess its possible the two sides come to some sort of deal that extends the current cba along with the current salary cap but more than likely if there is a cap next year it will be part of a NEW CBA that may or may not include rules such as the year and a day johnson

Judging from that interview today, he's got a glass jaw and worse yet he knows it. Jumping at shadows is no way to run the pill, son. I mean sheesh who doesn't forget shtein when they hit 50 or 60?

I think he's worried about fogetting how to walk, or not shtein himself, not his grandkids birthday.

Quintin Demps fined $12,500

Posted by Michael David Smith on December 10, 2009 7:31 PM ET
Philadelphia Eagles safety Quintin Demps committed personal foul penalties on Sunday that various sports writers described as "stupid" and "moronic."

Demps can now describe the penalties as "expensive."

The NFL has fined Demps $12,500 for his two personal fouls, a roughing the passer penalty for a high hit on Falcons quarterback Chris Redman and a late hite on Falcons receiver Roddy White.

The Philadelphia Iquirer notes that Demps' 2009 salary is $385,000, and quotes him as saying he thinks the $12,500 fine is steep.

"It's Christmas time," Demps said, "and I don't want to be giving away free money."

Dumbest bastich on the team.

 :-D

Both of those hits were very questionable, BTW. I can see the roughing the passer call, but the other one was ridiculous.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

'Course his game check isn't probably much more than $16-17k take home, and we know how well these guys can save. I'm sure it is a big hit to his holiday cash flow...
