the most shocking thing about that is that cerrato admitted it and did so as if deferring to a running backs coach during the draft was a perfectly reasonable thing to do

it would be a lot funnier save for the fact that were the eagles to hire stump mitchell as their GM it would be an upgrade

I think position coaches get a lot of input as far as players go though.

I've read where certain scouts or position coaches literally stand on tables trying to convince GMs to pick a guy or where the GMs solicit advice of those guys since they worked out a player on their own

I think it's more of the fact that the coach said he didn't want Shady that is being mocked here.

That works out for the Eagles since they have two O-line coaches in the mix, Watkins should be in the HOF.

maybe in organizations like the skins they do...but as a general rule they have no say on draft day...respected coordinators have very little input much less position coaches...shtein a lot of GM's often wont give his own coach a whole lot of input...its the scouting dept and the gm for the most part

in the months leading up to a draft a PP guy may ask for some input on a player i guess...a position coach will also show up at a workout being hosted by the team....but they arent going to the senior bowls and combines and studying tape of prospects

the idea that they called stump mitchell on draft day to see if they should trade up to get a player is ludicrous

considering all the time you spent in an nfl front office, we should trust your opinion
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

its not an opinion its fact...like there hasnt been one million articles on how NFL PP departments work...i mean have you ever watched the draft before even?

even if you havent simple common sense would tell you that a running backs coach is not putting the nix on a big draft day trade....its waaaaaaaaaaaaaay above his pay grade at that stage of the game

stump farging mitchell is whistling off the suicides during mini camp that guys the GM drafted are running....thats about the extent it for a RB coach and the draft
