mcdermott to be named permanent eagles DC at a presser tomorrow

is it just me or is holding a presser on this while jj is on his death bed kind of unseemly

i don't see anything wrong with it and i'm sure it will be kept pretty low key.  they needed to make a permanent change and they did.  i wouldn't be surprised if they opt not to take any questions after the official announcement. 

you can make a permanent change without putting it on your website as BREAKIN NEWS! and calling a presser...everyone knows the deal...just let the man pass then make a soft announcement...i dont think its a huge deal or anything but it is a little unseemly to me and goes to the larger problem with the front office and how big a fleshpops they are

I would if he qualified.

The players in particular need to know.  And they didn't, even though they probably guessed.  If you were capable of nuanced thinking, you'd understand that.  Spending all of camp hoping Johnson would survive to come back and coach would be on the back of all their minds, a huge distraction.  Now they know he's dying, never coming back, and Sean McDermott is the guy.  They can move on.  That presser was for them, it needed to be public so the media and the fans would shut the farg up and let them do their job.
