Stop toying with me.  I'm way too sober for that.

ESPN Insider is jocking a rumor that the Eagles are pursuing Chad Johnson. I don't have Insider so I don't have any more information than that, but if anyone does have Insider and wants to post something about it I'm sure we'd all be interested. Dicks.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

its not really insider....michael smith reported it on espn radio yesterday....basically said if the bengals move him the eagles are interested

phattymatty

makes perfect sense now.  they passed on ocho cinco last year when he was probably the best WR there was a chance of getting.  now that he's probably 4th on the list the eagles will have much more bargaining power.

Knowing how they work, they're probably just building it into a story, since the Eagles are perceived as WR-needy, even though there may be now truth to the interest.  The media is tricky like that, just like transexual prostitutes.

I find transexual prostitutes to be very straightforward, actually. They want you to plug them in the pooper. No great mystery or confusion there.

The tricky ones are the ones that let you finish giving them oral before they tell you they are a guy.

You should probably stop going down on hookers. Male or female. Bad policy.

heres the actual insider - 'rumor central' - piece

Eagles in on Ocho Cinco derby?
Interested: Jaguars? Raiders? Eagles? Jets? Giants?

It's become a tradition this offseason, given the Philadelphia Eagles' wealth of draft picks, that any time any trade-worthy asset is brought up, the Eagles are listed as an interested party.

The tradition continued last night on NFL Live, when ESPN's Michael Smith indicated that Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ocho Cinco could be catching passes from Donovan McNabb in 2009. Smith said, "I am hearing there is interest in Chad Johnson. Now there's been some back and forth as to whether or not he is officially on the market. I think everybody in Cincinnati has signed off on moving Chad Johnson except for owner Mike Brown. The Eagles could be in the picture. They have two first-round picks. They need a receiver."

The Eagles have made some key additions to the team via free agency so far - a sturdy offensive tackle in Stacy Andrews, a surly free safety in Sean Jones, and a versatile fullback in Leonard Weaver - but Ocho Cinco would provide the team with a glamorous offensive weapon both on- and off-field such as the fanbase has not enjoyed since the roller-coaster days of Terrell Owens. In addition, pairing Ocho Cinco with DeSean Jackson and Kevin Curtis would provoke nightmares for secondary coaches around the NFC East.

Nonetheless, there has been some discussion that instead of trading for an established veteran, the team will use some of their many picks to trade up and make a play for Michael Crabtree, Jeremy Maclin or one of the offensive tackles at the top of the draft. This is clearly a more conservative play, especially considering that Ocho Cinco, now tres uno years old, would want a lucrative contract from his new team.

reese125

since none of those other teams really need a WR, I can definitely see the Eagles out-bidding all of them

I cant wait.

This is why Michael Smith is big-time.  Genius!

Eagaholic

it would be funny seeing the FO and rosenhaus working out a contract for 85. it would probably be 666 pages long.

ice grillin you

what makes you think the front office would even entertain such a negotiation...hes signed for two more years with a team option for a third

also does he even want a new contract...i havent heard that...if he does i would assume the eagles would want no part of him
