Win. Or not.

Journalistic integrity? ESPN? In that context those words have no meaning...
Three things can happen when you throw the ball, and two of them are bad.

QuoteRaiders want Gannon gone

According to David White of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Raiders want CBS analyst Rich Gannon (and former Oakland Super Bowl quarterback) banned from their Alameda training facility.

Club officials want Gannon blackballed because he's been critical of the organization.

"Rich Gannon is not welcome here," ubiquitous club spokesman John Herrera said.  "We told CBS we did not want him in our building . . . and that's where it sits."

Initially, the Raiders even asked for Gannon to be pulled out of the broadcast booth.

Unsurprisingly, CBS declined.

"Rich Gannon is an objective and analytical broadcaster and he will be broadcasting the game as assigned," said CBS senior V.P. of communications LeslieAnne Wade.

As to the Raiders' reasoning, Herrera pointed to Gannon saying the organization "should just blow up the building and start over."

Herrera is apparently more sensitive than his incredibly confrontational history with at least one reporter suggests.

"We think in a post 9/11 world, that's not a very proper thing to say," Herrera said.  "It's uncalled for.  [Gannon] seems to be a guy who can't get over the fact that he played the worst Super Bowl game in the history of the game and he wants to blame everybody but himself."

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

They are wearing them tomorrow.

QuoteSeahawks rolling out stomach-churning jerseys?
Posted by Mike Florio on September 26, 2009 10:37 AM ET
With quarterback Matt Hasselbeck expected to miss Sunday's game, coach Jim Mora has an apparent alternative plan for beating the Bears.

By inducing them to vomit.

ESPN's Chris Berman said during his weekly "Two Minute Drill" segment (which only feels like an eternity) that the 'Hawks will be sporting lime green alternate jerseys on Sunday.

When word first surfaced of the possibility that the Seahawks would actually wear during a game the most hideous sports jerseys we've ever seen (and, yes, they're even worse than the Eagles' homage to the Brazilian national soccer team), the notion was quickly knocked down by an indication that it was all an April Fool's Day joke.

Well, as of Sunday, the joke apparently will be on the Bears.  And anyone who has the misfortune of exposing their rods and cones to the game.

I still didn't hate the Yellowjackets uniform....Yeah it was ugly as shtein but that's what they wore back in the day.

I don't think any team sported the lime green look back then.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

its not at all what the eagles wore, they werent shiny, and that was the issue.  if they were dull, they would have been fine

Agreed, but no team is going to sell dull colored jersey's these days....Gotta modern up the classics. Even the Browns are the shiniest brown I've ever seen to not come out of my ass.

those Jet's throwbacks were money, and they were ugly as shtein.  Same goes for the Steelers throwbacks.  The eagles farged up something bad, and ended up with what they deserved, people calling them horrible.

I definitely would have preferred long sleeve and dull. Unfortunately it's all about the  :deion, and shiny sells.
