You left out the part where absolutely no black people will ever watch hockey ever because it's all about race.

its not just a black and white thing....theres a ton of white people that dont even know what hockey is

then theres a small but vocal and strong segment of whites that will never watch a young black kids get rich just as theres a small vocal and strong segment of people who love hockey and dont even watch the other three sports at all

but go door to door in the area and take a poll of people and sixers/basketball will kill flyers/hockey....once again the difference is that a large majority of flyer fans are complete stepfords who have money and thus will go to games even when they were the worst team in the nhl...and im not cirticizing them for that they are awesome fans but it absolutely is what gives them an advantage in perceived numbers

then how do you explain the tv ratings? And don't give me the blacks can't afford cable bit because that's ridiculous and you know it.

go into any inner city neighborhood and lemme know how many people are paying 75 bucks a month for comcast...trust me ive been there and these people are more worried about keeping rats out their houses or their electricty on and food in their kids mouths before they are paying for comcast

also neilson doesnt go into poor neighborhoods at near the levels they go into middle and upper class neighborhoods because advertizers know that low income people are less likely to spend money on their products

There are plenty of people who love the Sixers/Flyers.
There are plenty of people who hate the Sixers/Flyers.

There are far more people who like them both roughly equally.

The Flyers draw more fans and get higher TV ratings. All things being equal, which they are, as illustrated above, the Flyers are more popular.

Why is this being discussed again? Did you guys run out of boring topics to drive into the ground and decided to unearth this little gem?

the flyers are more popular im not denying that...because they have a fantatical base....what im saying is there are way more people in philly who like the sixers than the flyers

except toronto there isnt a single nba/nhl city where there are more hockey fans than basketball

I know penty of poor folks and they all have cable. And I'm talking white and poor and black and poor. The rest of your post is ridiculous. The original argument was 'which team is more popular', which I see you've finally conceded.

i mean if its that important to you that the flyers are more popular you can have it i dont care

but there are way more sixer fans than flyer...they just dont buy tickets like flyer fans do

and im quite sure you dont know what real poor is...go to the ghetto like i have many times for the big brother program...to give christmas to poor families...deliver food to the poor and then get back to me on how many tv's you see much less cable


also check out the distrubution numbers on the govt. converter box plan and who is requesting them....its incredible the number of boxes that are requested by poor urban people compared to suburbia

I grew up with a bunch of friends that lived in the projects, they all had cable. And that was 15 years ago.

not all projects are truly poor

go into north philly west philly...southeast dc...queensbridge....ect ect ect...

only about half the country has cable

that number is way lower in poor neighborhoods

the fact that youre even arguing this is amazing to me


again i work with these people i go into the places...but even if you dont it isnt rocket science to know that the more money you have the more likely youre to have luxuries like cable tv...just read up on it or like i said look into the over the air converter box distribution by the govt and see where they are mostly going


i can see you arguing this because of your love for the flyers...but you cant really believe it can you?

I love the Flyers and Sixers equally. As for your last question I can't believe you're still in denial after the stats posted in that article. You do realize Philly, the suburbs, and south Jersey are included in the demographic, right?
