the problem with an all decade team is there are too many players who were elite but only played maybe 6 years like that in the decade. that snapshot doesn't give the full picture.

Torry Holt, Tra Thomas to be cut Monday

The Torry Holt experiment in Jacksonville is only going to last one season. Vito "Don't call me Tweeto" Stellino of the Florida Times Union reports that Holt and tackle Tra Thomas will be released Monday by the Jaguars.

Still only 33, Holt had decent numbers in Jacksonville with 51 catches for 722 yards.  But his speed and ability to win one-one-battles has declined rapidly the last few seasons.  The Jaguars have a promising young group of wideouts with Mike Sims-Walker, Mike Thomas, and Jarrett Dillard.  Holt was due $9 million over the next two seasons.

Holt's release isn't shocking, but dropping Thomas is less of a surprise.  The Jaguars have two first-round tackles and Thomas was a part-time player at age 35.

Silva and I used to always argue over Holt and Isaac Bruce's Hall of Fame credentials.  Holt should get another contract, but the end to his career is not helping his case.

Tra is probably too old and injured at this point (was when he left, at least the injured part) but ideally the Eagles should get a good LT and move Peters to RT where he belongs and hopefully could dominate, without all the penalties.
