Fair enough.  But if you're running an older car -- mine's an 89 -- then it's good advice.  And it always stands to reason that a major auxilary system which runs off your primary power source is going to sap power/efficiency.

plus for every mile you drive with the air on its like driving two miles as far as the wear and tear on your engine...i put the air on in my car about twice every five years just so the ac gets some usage...but even in the hottest most humid days i never use it
you sir are crazy

For real. I frequently think that people would be better off if technology were thrown back to the stone age and we all had to fend for ourselves. Then I remember that air conditioning exists... AC is the greatest invention ever. Ozone layer be damned.

No AC + summer heat + leather seats = swamp ass

I do like to have the windows down too, but the only time I can do that here is very early in the morning or late at night.

Driving from FL to Morgantown, PA, the prices ran from $3.83 to $4.17.  Lowest was SC and NC, highest was in VA.

This is true at highway speeds, because of the drag that the open windows creates, but around town, it's the open windows that do the best, efficiency wise.

Either way, I hope Havas uses a really good deodorant.

I don't plan on getting that close to him.

Good advice Dio.

You know, my problem was that I mis-managed my time, always and everyday I was rushing around because I was cutting it close or late. So, of course, to try to make up for time or to beat the clock, I'd treat my honda like a race car. Lead foot, 90 plus mph, seriously, it was stupid. I was so stressed out.

Recently when my transmission took a shtein on me, it made me realize what the problem was. I'm not going to say I'm a completely different drive, but I don't take off as quickly  and I drive with enough time to get where I'm going. I think I've eliminated at least 50% of the stress in my life with that alone.

I think my car and my future cars will thank me for that. I've learned my lesson.
