Somebody talk to me about Comcast's Center Ice package. How much is it? Is it worth it? From out of market how many Flyers games can I expect to see?
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

You'll see just about all of them (except possibly a few that are blacked out because of national blackouts).  A lot of them will be with the other team's announcers.

I couldn't care less about the announcers. Never understood people's obsession with them.

What about cost? $150 for the season?

Depends on where you get it, its 159 on DTV, might be the same price, maybe more on your cable system.  As Geo said, be prepared for some of the biggest homers you will ever ever listen to(Pens,Lightning,Bruins)  Supposedly Direct Tv is rolling out tons of the games in HD this year, and there are supposed to be more Philly Announcers broadcasts this year, last year there were at least 15 which was amazing compared to previous years.

And you'll get Playoffs too which is obviously a season onto itself.

If you get NHL Network, the Flyers/Canes preseason game at the Spectrum will be available at 1pm, hopefully in HD

Most of them don't bother me (Emerick is actually quite good IMO), but a few are absolutely horrible to listen to.  Jack Edwards (Bruins) is probably the worst - went entire games about how dirty the Flyers were.  The Sabres and Pens announcers are biased.

Of course, I'm sure that non-Flyers fans would say the same about Jim Jackson.

But I agree - at least I'm seeing the game.

I just called Comcast this morning to sign up again.  right now it's $149 (reg $159).  Most definitely worth it.
Only issues are:  some announcers really suck; they sometimes blackout inbetween periods or for commercials; and no HD (on Comcast).
Plus it's another great reason to drink more.
