May as well go watch the NHL draft!

SunMo

exactly Geo, Homer should do that in the draft
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Umberger and our 4th to Columbus for the 19th overall and a 3rd

I like it. Umberger would have cost too much.

I'm ok with it...assuming it was Umberger's $ demands, and not just to stockpile draft picks....although picks could turn into trading bait for a stud D-man.

#27 traded to Washington for 2002 1st-rd bust Steve Eminger (big d-man) and a 3rd-rd pick

SD_Eagle5

Eminger has talent and size but has never put it all together. I don't see him as anything more than a 5 or 6 defenseman at best. He did play well vs. the Flyers in the first round. I'd like to think he could be another Coburn but I highly doubt it. Maybe they get rid of Kukkonen or this could possibly be a sign that Hatcher is calling it quits. With Markstrom and Carlson on the board I'd have rather gone that route than this trade.

ice grillin you

despite good size eminger is a guy with offensive skills...one problem he produces no offense...and hes horrible in his own zone...hes still relatively young so maybe like pierre said last night a change of scenery will turn his career around.....very curious deal by the flyers...all they talked about leading up to the draft is how deep it was and how they didnt have enough picks...so then they trade a number one for a guy that so far stinks and a 3rd

if you were gonna take on another player anyway then why not trade umberger for a better player than eminger and keep your first rounder
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

ice grillin you

i couldnt pick the guy out of a lineup with the supremes but seems like a good get if you can get the best defenseman in one of the three major junior leagues at 67

From what I've read, he's defensively responsible, had some offensive upside, is willing to fight, but is an average skater.

I know none of this personally, however.  Never heard of him before today.
