The only hope with Ruben Amaro is he pulls a Paul Holmgren and actually does a good job. I know that's a long shot but I have to grasp at something.

PhillyPhreak54

Just accept it now SD...Amaro is going to be a clusterfarg. That smarmy, egocentric prick with the tough guy attitude is going to be eaten alive and ruin this team (more than it is now). ANd we'll have to listen to him recycle the Ed Wade cliches.

Regardless of who goes or comes, I think we'll find out for sure in the next seven days whether this team and front office are really committed to winning in any capacity. It's obvious to most that if the Mets even get 50% of their heads together, they will run away with the division, as well as the Phils not being able to hold of the Marlins. It's really a shame, because the Mets Phils rivalry was really starting to gather some steam, and was exciting as hell. If the Phils go back to be perennial losers, it won't be much of a rivalry. Also, it'll be nice to see when they are clinging to third place and the stadium stops selling out at a brisk place.

There's a stink emanating from this team and the stink is called complacency.  As long as they're making money the ownership couldn't care less if they actually win a World Series.  It's been that way since those fargers took over 25 years ago and nothing is going to chance until those douchebags are gone.

PoopyfaceMcGee

I disagree.  I think if they trade Carrasco for Fuentes, they'll win the World Series.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

SD_Eagle5

9 run 4th off Hamels.

Stick a fork in em folks, they're done.

PhillyPhreak54

Two games, two huge innings.

farging shteinbag losers.

Rome

Great effort again from the Phillies.  Nine runs allowed but only four of them are earned.  Excellent.

Blow. It. Up.

Minus Utley, Hamels, and Howard.

This team is an embarrassment. They have no balls, no fight, no nothing. Whatever they had early on is gone. What a farging farce and way to choke it up, you farging iceholes

Rome

They don't need to blow it up.  What they need is to shake it up a bit and add someone new to the mix.   Firing Charlie would be my first choice because it's clear he's lost this bunch.

The BIGSTUD

Anyone who thinks this team is making the playoffs is in denial. Mediocre team in a bad division. Last year's playoff run was a fluke. They are an 85-89 win team every year, and will continue to be until they either go for it, or blow it up.

Meanwhile the Marlins win the World Series a handful of years ago, rip it apart, and build it back up and have already caught and surpassed the Phillies. This Phillies team has been stuck in this mediocre muck since Bowa, and they'll never escape with their current way they run things.

If they fired Manuel and added Jason Bay to this team a month ago, things wouldn't be any different now. They'd have maybe 2 more wins.

With the way Utley and Rollins are playing, and the way everyone else is falling apart, a little shakeup wouldn't make a difference at all.

Don Ho

Yes, I most certainly do!

BUT, there is hope.  BASES LOADED.
