How about some back story to this?

Why did he give him a bill?

I thought it would be more fun for people to ask if my dad gave him a knobber or something, and leave them guessing.

Oh yeah?  My dad was homeless last week, is staying in a pay-by-the-week flophouse this week.

Well, my dad runs a limo company and today drove Larry and his family from the airport to his gig.

Apparently, Dan Whitney is a good tipper.

Diomedes

I'm a good tipper, and I can't afford it.  He damn well better be a good tipper.

Many rich people are far from generous.  Actually, most of them are.

Plus, the trip was 5 miles, so $100 is all the more impressive.

I figure that by not tipping $100 for a 5-mile trip, that's the kind of behavior that prevents somebody from being not rich.

My brother in law used to bartend in NYC...and he'd gotten a few tips like that from celebs. Not enough to really make a living on, though.

Rome

He used to do goofy radio bits for WDIZ in Orlando 15 years ago.  He was nothing like his stage persona at all.  I met him several times here in Daytona at gigs for Ron & Ron (now Ron & Fez) and he was just a normal dude back then.

Eh - I guess tipping limo drivers hundies is better than giving them to strippers.
