so how do you get experience now, i can't get more than 1% fighting anyone.  is it only by crimes or scavenging?

i think i go up 1% every time i train too, but thats it.

never took that much in a mugging before...

Father Demon

I had my first $10K+ mugging today.  It was cool.

As for EXP, almost exclusively from crimes and scavenging.  I beat up Vanya last night (5 levels above me at the time), and only got 2% EXP.  There's a new IQ crime that gives me 5% with an almost 100% success rate, and kidnapping the governor's son gets me about 18%, but with only a 15% success rate.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

Sgt PSN

I haven't mugged anyone is probably a week.  No point in it since you don't gain much exp from it and the cash isn't all that great either.

Father Demon

You beat imposterdamus and stole $45750

He popped up after I mugged someone else for $18K carrying >$1M.  He's deposited most of it now, but still has almost $30K on him.

So, here's what I've implemented so far on the FC knock-off:

Power (Strength): affects run/pass percentage, run success and injury rate
Speed (Agility): affects run/pass percentage and pass success rate
Defense (Guard): affects "big plays" and turnovers
Special Teams (Labour): affects field position after kicks, field goal success.
Coaching (IQ): TBD, probably penalties and other?

Hype (Energy): points used to play games and train stats, regerates based on current streak
Streak (Will): number of consecutive wins in games played, set to zero after a loss
OTAs (Brave): TBD
EXP: TBD
Money: TBD
Injuries (HP): When injuries hit 100%, a game in progress is forfeit.

Running is less risky than passing, but doesn't gain as many yards.  Currently no turnovers while running.

Games (attack) are played out fully automated.  There are 75 plays in a game (including kicks), with sudden death overtime if there is a tie.  You always punt on 4th down unless you are in field goal range.

Stats are percentages.  When you train, you are less likely to gain in a stat as you get higher in that stat.
There is always a 5% possibility of gaining in a stat, stats can go higher than 100.

I'll put a working version online tonight or tomorrow morning for you to play with and let me know if I should bother continuing it.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

a level 30 attacked me and lost.  i'm only 20.  weird.

Cerevant

Based on the original code, level only controls your hit points, not your hit % or damage, so it is not surprising.  Oddly enough, the damage between players of a similar stat level goes down as the stats get higher.

just please design the visuals out better than FC. the freakin green on black was a horrendous idea. simple things like that and space out the lines if you have paragraphs...or make type larger...

Well, I promise I won't use green on black.  The default of the code is much like this site - Black on grey with green, so I left it.  I'm not a big graphics design guy, but if there is something that hurts your eyes I'll fix it.
