I forget who said it a couple of days ago, but I think they pretty much nailed it.  The tutorial is bullshtein:
To hit or to miss is: Combat (melee) or Marksmanship (gun) vs. Agility
Damage is: Strength vs. Guard

I need someone to attack me with a melee weapon (preferably a hammer to ensure that there are enough rounds to see the result) to make sure you can still defend a melee attack with a gun.  If so, there is zero reason to put points into combat.

I said it.  I'll attack you in the name of science.  Do me a favor and travel to Philly.

OK, I did it.  My hammer vs. your sniper rifle.  It only took me over 2000 turns to beat you.

PM me your email address, and I'll send you the txt file of the log.

Cerevant

Done - can you post/e-mail your stats?
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Let me know what conclusions you come up with.

I thought I proposed to Cerevant. I checked my events log, and it appears that I proposed to myself. Of course, I accepted! If only I could do that in real life!

Alright loverboy, I just upgraded our digs, so go get a job or something.

So I should actually work on getting more Labour? I've been spending all my energy on marksmanship!

Cerevant

No, just start making money.  I'm going to need new weapons soon :)

It sounds like your work DNS is lame and not updated frequently.

Try using the http://www.fatal-combat.com/inventory.php link directly.

New info based on my chat with FF:

- Level appears to have no impact on combat
- Using energy for combat is very inefficient, especially as you level up.  As your levels increase, you can train more at 100% energy, but you can still only do 2 attacks.
- Still leveling is important to increase your stats - I'm thinking you want to attack once every 5th time you hit 50% or so.
- The exception is when your will is down (such as after a house upgrade).  Then attack away until your will is above 95%
- If you are watching the game closely, don't wait until you hit 100% to start using energy.  Since 100 doesn't divide evenly by 16 or 17 or whatever the step is, you are likely wasting points.
- As far as I can tell, only IQ crimes give you XP.  Make sure you use up your brave the same way you use up your Energy.  Since it is still heavily random, I think it is better to go for 2 10 point crimes instead of 1 20 point crime, since you are more likely to succeed. (guess)

Level does matter to a small extent, only because it gives you more hit points.

All crimes give experience.  The bigger the crime you pull off, the more the XP.

can the gang give me a shotgun to "rip through flesh" ?

is the shotgun better than the F90?

True.

Also, revisied comment: the break even for Will as opposed to waiting for Energy to hit 100% is when your Will hits 94%.  So if you have >94% will, go ahead and train.  Otherwise wait.

Not unless you are maxing out your damage in the F90 already - you need to be doing > 100 points of damage per hit.  Having a better gun doesn't help unless your strength is much higher than your opponent.

Quotekingzblend attacked you and lost.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAH

Update:
QuoteYou beat kingzblend and leave him on the ground. and gained 31% EXP!

Level 13 vs. Level 17.  I guess he's been doing a lot of empty leveling through fighting and crimes and not enough training.

Freddie, what are your stats looking like right now?
