1.  This ain't the NCAA.  There will be no retroactive stripping and awarding of championships.

2.  Even if they did, it would be at best a hollow victory.  In fact, it would be more like losing the damn game all over again.

3.  Andy F. Reid did more to lose the Super Bowl than any "cheating" the Patriots could ever do.  Who needed to record the walkthrough- what has Big Red changed in the past 7 years that would need to be put on video?  Haven't we been predicting the playcalling with an insane amount of accuracy?

I wouldn't be surprised if Belicheck committed suicide last night.

Saints DE Charles Grant was reportedly stabbed in the neck with a knife at a nightclub in Atlanta Saturday night.
A fight allegedly broke out at the club, and a woman was shot and killed. Grant is expected to be fine despite the stab wound. More information will likely be available later in the day and tomorrow. Feb. 3 - 12:29 pm et

The woman turned out to be pregnant too.  Grant is being held in Atlanta while authorities investigate.

I'll tell you what.  The Atlanta Clubs ain't the place to be during the SB.

Fate continues to shtein on the Falcons

QuoteMINNEAPOLIS -- The Atlanta Falcons cannot recover nearly $20 million in bonus money paid to suspended star quarterback Michael Vick, a federal judge ruled Monday.

The National Football League team sought to recover the bonuses after Vick pleaded guilty to federal charges in a dogfighting operation. The bonuses were paid from 2004 through 2007.

A special master ruled in October that the Falcons were entitled to recover the bonuses. The Falcons argued that Vick used proceeds from a contract he signed in 2004 to finance his illicit activities.

The NFL Players Association had asked a federal judge to overturn a special master's decision that Vick should forfeit the bonus money because of his guilty plea.

But U.S. District Judge David Doty of Minneapolis ruled that the Falcons recovering the bonus money would violate the NFL collective bargaining agreement. The agreement does not allow signing bonuses to be forfeited for years a player has already performed.

Did he play at all in 2007?  Seems like they should at least get that back.

David Doty is the same judge who ruled on the T.O. case.

Weird.

Michael Vick must repay $3.5 million of the $20 million the Falcons tried to recover from him in the form of bonuses.
Previous reports indicated Vick wouldn't have to repay any money. Still, the Falcons can't be happy. Vick, who is suspended indefinitely, will count $7.57 million against the salary cap in 2008 and more than $8 million in 2009.

They may finally push past the Colts. Gregg Williams working with actual talent on D is a scary thought.
