Utah's win was a more dominant win over a better opponent than Ohio State, and was the final win in an undefeated season. Utah has some kind of argument at least. And USC beat the shtein out of PSU. Scraping by the #10 team in the final seconds of the game doesn't really add to the evidence that Texas should be #1. They can talk about the Big 12 seeding or the BCS ranking all they want, the simple fact remains that Texas was not the best Division I football team this year.

Nonsense. There's absolutely no way to know that since, you know, there isn't a format by which the best teams can actually play each other and find out for sure.

the utah win was not any more impressive than the texas win

im certainly no big ten fan and im not pimping ohio state but they are a better team than georgia...georgia was simply not a very good team this year and the sec overall was really down

georgia got worked at home giving up 41 against the same alabama team utah beat...they also lost to gt at home who got murdered by a weak lsu team in a bowl....i know the transitive property doesnt always work and you can make unending arguments using it but im quite confident that texas would beat utah eight or nine times out of 10...utah isnt even one of the five best teams in the country much less the best...their schedule was a complete travesty and even in a down sec this year utah has at least three losses if they play in it
