What's so wrong with Lee Evans?

He is the definition of average. He's no different than Kevin Curtis...whereas his 1 1000 yard season came with the help of a 200+ yard game.

The guy disappears for weeks at a time.

No thank you.

Evans is fine whereas he's an upgrade. He'd be my last choice however, he's short, I want a 6'3 guy who can go up and get balls. Enough with these 6'0 and under guys with average speed.

my problem with lee evans is consistency...he either gets 3 td's and 150 yards or two catches...that being said id take him in a heartbeat...at this point youre playing with house money as lito has to go and you got samuel...you could do a lot worse than to come away with lee evans

I agree... he definitely has ups and downs, but I think part of that comes with JP Losman or Trent Edwards.  I think he could blow up in an offense like the Eagles where he doesn't have to be THE guy all the time.

He's one of the best deep WR's in the league... which may also speak to some of that inconsistency.  He sees a lot of low percentage throws.

The only thing wrong with Lee Evans is he's never had even a decent quarterback to throw him the ball.  Buffalo's quarterbacks have ranged from mildly awful to kill-yourself horrendous since he's been there.

Put him in a situation where he's got a great QB throwing him the ball and he's a no-doubt-about-it Pro Bowler.  Just look at what he did in 2006 with a piece of shtein like J.P. Losman throwing him the ball.

at this point, the Eagles need any WR that knows how to get seperation off the line, and can be a solid target in the red zone where they f'ed up big time last year.

SD makes a nice point, it would be nice to have some size down in the 20

totally agree...he would absolutely automatically give them the outside threat they so sorely lack...and to be with mcnabb would give him a huge upside here

The Eagles don't throw the fade anyway so what good is having a 6'4" receiver exactly?  It's not as if they would use him properly.

precisely...they use their TE and RB way more in the red zone than any wr much less a big one...theyve had hank baskett for three years and have thrown the fade to him what once?

a healthy LJ would solve a lot of thier rez zone problems

i don't believe in the whole no QB throwing to him. there are receivers that get it done with crap QB's. Roy Williams being one, Boldin, Fitz, Steve Smith...the list goes on, Lee Evans isn't an upgrade at all. He hasn't proven shtein, other than the occasional good game. I agree he's nothing better or worse than Curtis. Smaller in size with good speed.

I just sent a text to my buddy who's a Buffalo fan.

The text read: Lee Evans to Philly?

His response:  First Biron, then TKO, then Briere and now Evans?  farg you.

lee evans has GREAT speed...hes way better than curtis...lee evans can be a big time outside threat curtis is a slot wr

and none of those guys mentioned have ever played with nearly as bad qb's as whats been in buffalo for evans career...its actually embarrassing what hes had to put up with...and not just that the qb's have been hideous but that they switch qb's every 24 hours...trent edwards kelly holcolmb jp losman ect...what a joke

because of his size he isnt fitzgerald boldin or rowy but hes better than anything they have

Again.

farg Lee Evans

If he were a great WR...then it wouldnt matter who is throwing the ball. He's average at best who has his best games vs the texans.

no one is saying hes a great wr...but he would automatically become the best wr on the eagles and would give the team something they dearly need...which is someone who has to be accounted for on the outside and deep...he would open up stuff for everyone else and make the offense significantly better...
