oh that tricky Banner.....because its not like the Eagles at all to speak about their players.

I almost feel like the Eagles put themselves into a predicament here thinking Lito would be swiped by now and something maybe fell through the cracks with the player they wanted. How could you not have a deal in place already for Lito as soon as you made the deal to sign Asante?

By not doing that, the power shift over to the bidder because the other team knows damn well you have to get rid of him. So now you get less in return. I guess we'll find out Lito's true value when/if a trade happens. Better yet they keep him and he doesn't report to camp

and the call came on like ten minutes after my last post.....he sounds way older than i thought he was
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

From the guy that started all the Fitzgerald hype:

QuoteSource: Update on Wide Receiver Hunt
March 5, 2008

A source close to the situation, the same person that broke the Asante Samuel signing to us, has confirmed that the Eagles will seek Roy Williams or Chad Johnson in a trade. The source told us to expect the Eagles to bring in a big name wide receiver this offseason. Asante Samuel was number one on the list and a big name receiver was a close number two. The Eagles are currently sitting tight awaiting to hear about the Larry Fitzgerald negotiations, but they will also seek Roy Williams or Chad Johnson if the Fitzgerald deal seems unlikely.

This confirms earlier reports by OTR that the Eagles are indeed loading up for a run. Eagles fans should be very excited that the Eagles organization is ready to take the team to the next level. Pieces are being put in place and hopefully all goals will be accomplished this offseason so the Eagles can make a Super Bowl run.

the eagles clearly talked to teams before FA opened to guage interest in lito and got enough in their minds to warrant signing samuel...at this point they have until september to trade lito...theres no rush and from the beginning i expected it to happen on draft day....its ridiculously early to be painting a picture of the eagles in a bad position here

IGY defending the Eagles FO, dogs and cats living together, Eagles going balls out to trade for a WR, it's mass hysteria.

Here we go again...

The guy was dead on about the Samuel signing and there was definitely smoke in the case of Fitzgerald...not to mention he called that shtein like 2 weeks ago.

No, I believe you... and I don't doubt the source.  I'm talking about here we go just as the Fitzgerald stuff was starting to die down and hopes were coming back down as well.  Thery're all about to shoot right back up there.

Fallout shelter, underground lounge to watch the Eagles away from the wife and kids... whatever.

It's a very exciting time to be an Eagles fan

Only if they get one of them LOL

I'm sorry, but I'd still LOVE to have Chad Johnson here. Not that I'd EVER complain about Roy Williams, but Chad Johnson......although...Fitz is still my first choice.

I have a boner right now. All I want to do is rub, point, and shoot at one of these receivers so I can move on.

QuoteAn ESPN source has stated that Chris Mortensen is about to break a story that Eagles are in serious negotiations to acquire wide receiver Roy Williams from the Detroit Lions. The talks have gone as far as the Philadelphia brass talking with Williams agent on a new deal. The deal is rumored to include cornerback Lito Sheppard and the eagles's second and fourth round picks for Williams and their sixth rounder. It is also believed that the Lions have an interest in Darren Howard. The story should be posted by later this afternoon
