I'm not saying the Eagles will make the playoffs, but the sad fact is that they are probably as good as some teams that will.
This.

What is dismaying is that the Eagles are "in the hunt" (in the taterskins sense of the term) so there is no reason in Lurie's mind to question the job that Reid is doing.  He is going to have to tank, and tank bad before we ever get rid of him.

i think my favorite part of the game yesterday was when they game out in the shotgun from the 2 yard line, i literally got dizzy.  the best part was, i told my cousin they were going to run a shovel pass before they came out of the huddle, the formation threw me off a little, obviously not the Dolphins though.

Yeah, I saw that too.  They split Westbrook out wide to try to give a different look.  As soon as I saw Westbrook come in motion towards the line, I said "shovel pass" and sure enough...

It's a nice play and all, but they use the shtein out of that shovel pass at the goal line and they need to use some damn imagination and come up with some other go-to plays or everyone's gonna sniff it out just like Miami did.

surely you jest. use another play? use another game plan?

remember in the saints playoff game when he called the play for tapeh out in the flats? and when questioned after the game about it he said "well it worked earlier in the season".

perfect example of reid. if it worked once he will keep going back to it even when the other teams know its coming. i remember a couple of times when ive heard the defenses call out "screen" at the line and the eagles still run a screen only to have it stuffed.

Well... in all fairness to Reid, when he hears one defender yell "screen", he figures, "Well... at least the other 10 don't know it's coming."

I just watched this game for the first time last night. What a piece of shtein.
I feel bad for the people who spent money to watch that in the rain. You should have just stayed in the parking lot and kept drinking.

Before McNabb went out it was like a dramatization of the problems with this team:
zesty special teams, and a psychotic fioxation on the pass, even though it was wet and windy and Mac was obviously off his game. The only thing that was missing was wasted time-outs.

Twice when Mac has gone down in his career the Eagles have had a better winning percentage than when he was in that season. The exception was when they had horrible qb'ing from McMahaon and Koy.

Do they not see the correlation between them changing the way that they play (more running with the teams greatest weapon) with more wins, even with a lower quality qb?
Do they think it is a coincindence? Are they unable to connect the dots?
Or are they just huge victims of Groupthink who cannot recognize any good ideas that come from the outside?

My girl said that this game reminded her of the 'Little League' South Park episode, where both teams are trying to lose so that they can stop playing.

I wouldn't play in this game if I was him either.  farg shocking the world.  Why would I go up against a juggernaut with a bad knee, ankle and thumb when my coach is just going to farg up and do nothing more than get me steamrolled time after time after time.

I wouldn't blame McNabb at all for not playing, but not because of some supposed weak psyche... but because he has a head coach that either has no clue how or simply refuses to use him and his offense effectively.

It's suicide!  You've seen the Patriots... you know how strong they are.  THE EAGLES CAN'T WIN!!!

I can just feel the undertow of hope here. Even from the people shouting about there being no chance. There is no hope. Just cut it out.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

From McNabb's blog:
QuoteHappy Thanksgiving! I hope all of the loyal readers of this blog have a wonderful day with their families. There should be plenty of food and plenty of good football on Thursday. I know a few of you have asked whether I will be ready to go when we get to New England to play the Patriots. All I can say at this point is I will do my best to rehab both my hand and ankle so that I can try and give it a go. I love to play this game and want nothing more than to be able to compete against the very best in the league. Hopefully, with hard work and a few prayers, if things go right I'll be in the starting lineup on Sunday night. I want to take this time to praise one of my current teammates. I've always said that Brian Westbrook is an extremely talented player and one of the most potent weapons in football. I'm thrilled that he is getting the recognition that he deserves. No doubt he has been our MVP. Speaking of MVPs, congratulations to Jimmy Rollins who won the National League honors today.

Go get 'em tough guy.

I don't think anyone here is hoping for a win.  What most are hoping for is that the Eagles don't get thoroughly humiliated on national television again.  Personally, I'm hoping for chronic injuries to several Patriots players, and no, that isn't hyperbole either.  I seriously want to see motherfargers carried off on stretchers but considering we have the equivalent of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir playing and coaching for our team, I don't expect dirty play of any sort.  Well, other than from the Patriots, that is.

So, to recap... I expect a blowout of epic proportions.  I further expect limpdick excuses and vows of improvement from the Eagles afterward.  What I'm sincerely hoping for, however, is Body Bag Game Part II.

Magical_Retard

the eagles have been embarrassed each time they have been on national tv so far this season and i do not expect any different result here.

usually even when they face the toughest opponent (like a few weeks back against dallas) i get hope near game time like maybe they will pull it off. not this time. i do not think anyone thinks they can win. ppl can hope, pray, and wish but thats different.
