look at the remainder of the Giants schedule... its worse than ours and we could still concievably catch them... two teams from this division will make the playoffs

and yeah, after reading the other posts i'm sure i'll get ass raped for this, but yesterdays game reminded me a lot of the win over carolina last year that turned the season around. I say we run the table and make the playoffs
If by 'run the table' you mean beat the Pats or Cowboys you're on crack. The only reason we have a remote chance in the other games is because the remaining teams are as bad as the Eagles vice maybe the Giants. Aints in the dome is a loss.

The Saints lost to a winless and gutless Rams team yesterday.  At home.  They're far from indominitable right now.

Is there anything really to even talk about this week?

The Eagles will lose to Miami and then somehow beat NE. Watch.

Luckily I'll be in Peru for the Pats game and won't have to watch the carnage.

i didnt think theyd make it last year for the same reason i dont think they will make it this year...the schedule...i just dont see them winning at new england or dallas this year and even if they win every other game that still puts them at 9-7

I think the main diff between this year and last year isn't the schedule but the way division opponents are playing. The Giants and Cowboys are bonafide playoff teams. Last year that wasn't the case.

What she means is that after they (presumably) beat the Dolphins, and get annihilated by the future SB winner, the Birds record will be 5-6, with an insurmountable schedule to come.  Then, presumably, she believes they'll win out over DAL, NYG, BUF, SEA, NO, finish 10-6 and be the winner of the East.

Except, Dallas and the Giants don't completely suck this year.  Buffalo might actually have something to play for, as will (likely) NO.  She lives in a fantasy world with Dave Spadaro, this after she claims she's been calling out Reid for years.  Laughable.

Of course, after that improbable win against the Skins, I'll catch shtein for calling 4-12 after the Packers game, when they go 5-11.
Anyone but Reid.

The best to hope for there is beating Buffalo, New Orleans and Seattle, and go 8-8. Even if they back into the playoffs with that record, a likely opponent would be the Cowboys, Giants or Packers. Thats a loss.

This team is just not good enough for me to think they win the last three of those games. Friggen' James Thrash ate up our seocondary yesterday. James Thrash goddammitt!! It was the first TD that the taterskins has thrown to a wideout all year!! And he caught two of them!! As bad as the Saints and the Bills can look, this team can make them look good just like they did the Skins yesterday. I've thought all this year that the Saints aren't as bad as they are playing. Brees could very well shred the Eagles secondary.

well, if by somehow reid loses this one, lurie will HAVE to get a new coach.  no if and's or buts about it.  but if we finish up 5-11 / 6-10 he'll be like, "your team really rallied together and beat a hard division rival blah blah blah you're our coach forever"
Pass.  Pass. Pass. PUNT.  No pro bowl WR's.  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  Retarded special teams.  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  "I've got to do a better job."  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  Running game shines for 3 plays. Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  No adjustments anywhere.  Pass.  Pass. Pass. PUNT.  (repeat)

Talking about the absurdity of the Eagles making the playoffs isn't the same as talking about the legitimate potential, home boy.

I still think 8-8 is this team's destiny and if 8-8 equates to them being a playoff team then that just goes to show how horrendous the NFC really is as a conference.

Phanatic

The question isn't about if the Eagles are good enough to make the playoffs...

The question is about whether or not the NFC is that bad...
