nice win & a fun game to watch.
miller was money & sammy had a real nice game with some big blocks at the end.

a1 got his 30+, so everybody's happy...right?

the guy is gone why does it bother you so much?

what are you trying to prove? that iverson is selfish and never cared about winning?

30+pts and 8 assists is damn amazing. i dont know what else you would want out of a SG.

uhhh...what the hell are you talking about?  i said it was a nice win for the sixers...barely mentioned a1.
he had a nice offensive game tonight.  good for him.

right you barely mentioned him....

been arguing about him for the past few pages and then threw in a jab to imply he must be happy because he got his pts.

what a shocker. if you asked even his harshest critics (not you because your not reasonable) they would at least give him credit by saying he gives it his all to win the game. never takes a game off.

and then your implying he was happy because he scored? i guess you were in the grp of ppl who said it would never work with him and melo. not enough baskets to go around?

well look at their record...they are still pretty good and in the east would be the top 3 and make a killing. melo's #s did no go down (actually went up) and as a team the offensive unit is one of the best. so that threw that theory right out of the window.

but please do continue with your dislike and hate for him. im sure next you will bring up the practice speech or how he forced the messiah larry brown to leave.

i dont know if he is racist but i just wonder about the hate. its borderline insane. iverson has a past...hell most ppl have a past. he isnt perfect...and you can find players in the league who have done worse but never received the same bad rep (jason kidd im looking at you) that iverson did. i guess the tattoos and braided hair really did factor into it.

dead wrong...which seems to be par for the course on here.
i actually liked iverson until all the stuff about him skipping practice started coming out.  that's when i started to realize that he just didn't "get" the team concept & what it takes to win as a team & make his teammates better.  his attitude seemed to get worse as the years went on & became downright unbearable until he finally forced his way out of town.  i couldn't care less about larry brown, braids, or tats.  i want my team's franchise player to do everything he can to help his team win games.  iverson didn't do that.  he was selfish and thought the rules didn't apply to him and his team suffered because of it.
i pointed out his flaws and got called a racist buy a guy who cries racism if his bread isn't toasted dark enough when he orders breakfast at the local diner.

btw, denver is a perfect example of what happens to a team that is full of "individuals" who don't play together as a team.  stop looking at stats.  they're a borderline playoff team.  talent can only get you so far.  the spurs & pistons play as a team & they win rings.  hopefully, the sixers are headed in that direction now that they're not built around a guy who wasn't interested in that concept.

they dont play together defensively because they are loaded with players who have offensive game but no defensive ability. i think besides camby no one plays defense. that same problem was there before iverson got there.

denver did not add iverson to sure up the defense. for what they added him, another scoring threat besides carmelo, he has worked out.

the team is above .500 and with the record they have most seasons they would at least be the 8th seed. the west is just too loaded and some teams who would otherwise make the playoffs will not.

and how did his attitude become worse since the blowup about practice and the potential trade to the clippers?

you claim a team can not win with a player like him, yet the team went to the finals on his back and faced goliath. you refuse to believe that he cares about winning and losing as long as he gets his. keep bringing up past incidents which have not reoccurred and now condemn him for denver's defensive problems.

ignored the point about him not hurting anyone's game in denver. he is not holding carmelo back (like ppl claimed he did with larry hughes and tim thomas). i guess phx falls under this same category since they play no defense and put up a lot of points. i guess they are also a bunch of selfish players who do not play as a team.

if you look at him compared to other "stars" in the league he is probably the least commercialized athletes. wouldn't it make sense that if he was only about himself he would be out promoting himself all over the place like certain players do? i do not agree with everything he has done either but the one thing i always saw was that he gave it his all.

and what became unbearable for the fans was not iverson, but the losing. i know its a shocker to you but fans did not show up to the games because the sixers were simply not good. did the fans magically show up the day he was traded?

Ironically, Boston is the best defensive team in the NBA and they're fairly balanced in terms of offensive production with the big three averaging 20, 18 & 18.

They're playing excellent team basketball right now, and considering Garnett, Pierce & Ray Allen weren't previously known for being "team first" guys, that's quite an accomplishment.

PS: There are very few hard core Sixers fans in Philly.  There's a lot of talkers and bandwagoners, but let's be real here... the Sixers have never drawn well in Philly other than when Iverson was at his prime and Pat Croce was working his magic in the city.

The BIGSTUD

AI tonight showed why he got Philadelphia more than any athlete that has ever played here. I miss him.

Go Sixers

Boston sucks
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

you're all over the place.  i don't care about denver, carmello anthony, the suns, commercials or any of that other nonsense.  i'm a sixers' fan.
iverson's last few seasons were a nightmare...he skipped practices, didn't listen to coaches, had no interest in making his team better, and finally cried his way into being traded.  that's why i don't like him.
there's nothing more to it than that...and i didn't "claim" half of the things you said i did in your post.

But you did claim that he is in fact a black man, and that is the reason why you hate him.

I don't understand why anyone would still harbor hate.  Be glad he's probably not going to win a championship with his new team either, and enjoy the new Sixers team playing well.

By the way, it looks like the impromptu ovation and Allen's actions were much better than any Sixers-planned "honoring" would have been anyway.  So, PG sucks.

My only complaint was when they announced his name, it was really awkward and the syllables were broken up. As a fan I would have liked to hear them do the old Alllllleeeeennnnnnn IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIvvvvveeeeerrrssssssssoooooooonnnnnn!! Sure he doesn't play here no more but farg it its one night.

so thats your big prediction...that sixers wont win the title this year??

and i hate to break it to you but playing well now and getting in the playoffs is a big deal and does matter to a young team....the experience will be invaluable going forward in order to win a championship...you dont miss the playoffs numerous years in a row then pop in and win a title

did you copy and paste this from last years Phillies thread that someone typed to you?
