Getting Chris Chambers would not really have made a difference, IMO. Plus it would have given Andy & Marty another reason to throw more. Give the QB time and use the run and these WRs are good enough to win.

Curtis' TD was real close to being called back for a delay of game, I was shocked they did not blow it dead.

As it turns out, the only touchdown scored by the Eagles in their Week Six win over the Jets  should have been blown dead before the play even began.

Bob Brookover of the Philadelphia Inquirer noted on Monday that the 75-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Donovan McNabb to receiver Kevin Curtis was the result of a play that began after the clock struck zero.

So the third-and-eight effort from the Philly 25 should have been a third-and-thirteen from the Eagles' 20.

Later, the officials failed to throw a flag for delay of game.  That time, however, the play that was allowed to proceed resulted in an interception of McNabb.

chambers would have helped precisely because all the eagles do is throw...if youre gonna throw that much and we all know andy is then you have to have better wr's

if they had gotten chambers he automatically becomes the teams best wr....im not saying he wins them a superbowl or anything but he puts them significantly closer to dallas....the eagles defense has been damn good...but the offense needs to put up way more pts....chambers would have helped there

i also def thought it was delay of game but if you watch nfl games that happens all the time...ive been notcing it for years and always just chalked it up as some kind of delay in the tv broadcast vs what the clock shows or something like that...i cant really explain it but i see at least once a week....a play clock hit zero before a snap and its not called

i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

how is minn vs dallas a better game than chicago vs philly?

i mean i know it is but still...oh well time for sopcast.

Dallas is the best team in the NFC and Minn has Adrian Peterson who's coming off an unreal performance. I'd almost rather watch that than the pathetic display of football we're going to see Sunday

i know thats why i said "i mean i know it is"...i mean the hype train around adrian peterson is just amazing. i love watching the guy but some have already claimed him to be the best RB in the league or best pure runner they have ever seen. something like this is said every season about a diff RB/player. i really hope minn pulls off a upset here...their defense is not horrible and if they keep running all game they could pull it out.

I hear ya, and I would have welcomed the addition. But I just don't think it would have made a huge difference. This offense can score when they are clicking. And for whatever reason (Andy + Donovan + no protection) they are not.

And we know what happens they acquire #1 WR's; they stay a year and roll out. It was great watching the Eagles last two top WRs battle it out on Sunday in Dallas, wasn't it?

yeah usually i notice they count "zero" as a second. if you let that zero second tick off then usually they call the delay of game.

and yes the eagles could have used chambers and yes he would have made difference in a pathetic conference....a two might be a little high so im not gonna be pissed they didnt do it at the same time i would have liked the move had they made it

a 2 is not high for a quality WR especially when that is the teams constant weakness yr in and out.  ok one of the constant weakenesses.

im still in shock that all it took for moss was a 4rth round pick. im sure the eagles must have at least for a split second thought about it but this FO prolly considered a 4rth round pick to be too high...forget a 2nd rd pick....they prolly value a 4rth round pick to be wasted on some developmental project player to be more important than getting someone like moss.

to think all those gay stories each week on every pre game show about tom brady and moss getting along and how its a happy marriage could have been mcnabb and moss.

Considering the way this season's going, do you honestly think trading a 2nd round pick for CHRIS CHAMBERS would have been an intelligent personnel move?  Seriously?  You pretty much have to be kidding, right?  Please tell me you're kidding.

IMO he is better then any option we have a WR

That's the way I always understood it.  The play clock sits at zero because it doesn't show tenths of a second.

Maybe the officials are instructed to give it "a beat" after the clock hits zero before calling delay of game.

Your trying to tell me that you would be bitch if the Eagles got him for a second? Please tell me what receiver you would want coming out of the 2008 draft in the 2nd rd?

This team has squat and will always get squat at WR if they dont do something creative at that position. F the draft. Just because a WR doesnt get you fantasy points FF, doesnt mean he cant contribute to moving the football in the right direction. Chambers is one of the most "targeted" receivers in the league every year, but  cant produce enough TD's as a result of an inadequate offense. QB's have been running for their life every other play and the O-line has sucked the past 3 years.

Yeah, I would take hm

Both of you are unsurprisingly short-sighted.  Teams that need help to get over the hump from decent to very good (like the Chargers) make those kinds of deals mid-season.  The Eagles will not win a Super Bowl this year with or without Chris Chambers, so why trade away a high pick and pay him big dollars?  He'll be 30 by the time the 2008 season rolls around also.

I'm not saying I wouldn't sign the guy as a free agent.  He's a good player.  But trading for him mid-season makes no sense for the 2007 Eagles.  None.

reese125

I never said do it mid-season either guy, I was strictly talking in general for a second rd pick. You capitalized CHRIS CHAMBERS like he sucks so bad

PoopyfaceMcGee

He doesn't "suck so bad", but he also doesn't "rule so hard".

ice grillin you

hes better than anything the eagles have...which is kinda the point...and even if you think curtis and brown are better hes still light years ahead of a bum like avant

like i said im not gonna go crazy over it...theres no need to...but you cant argue that it wouldnt have elevated them in the nfc...the question is would a 2 have been too much...i think an argument can be made either way
