A sneak, a run, a playaction, a reverse... I can't think of a worse possible thing Mangina could have done than have Pennington throw out of the shotgun. Fake field goal had a better chance than that shtein.

it's not the worst call in the world...either way the clock stops after the play, either incomplete or 2 minute warning, so it's worth the risk.  you want to keep the ball because you don't want to punt into the wind.  the defense was just on the field for a long time so you don't want to throw them out there after three give up plays.  i'm ok with going for the first down there
