The University of Dayton holds their spring break this week (yes, I know) down here in Daytona.  I'm not exaggerating when I say there was at least 100 Penguins fans in the pub tonight.  I took a photo and sent it to some of you.  Don't know if anyone got it, but I've never heard or seen a more glaring example of bandwagon fans than those farging clowns last night.  They cheered at the wrong times, oohed and ahhed every time Crosby was on the ice, started "let's go pens" cheers every five seconds - just the most annoying group of queers I've ever experienced.

There were about 10 Flyers fans at the place and I've never seen any of them either.  Of course the obligatory E-A-G-L-E-S chants started towards the end of the game (especially after the penalty was called) and they even did a rendition of "Fly Eagles Fly" which caused me to throw up in my mouth a little.

Just a bad experience all around.

At least Richards showed up.  Too bad no one else did.  And nice comeback from the Phils too.

The only thing I'm happy about right now is that they kept it from running away from them in embarrassing fashion. When the 4th goal went in I was certain that the floodgates would open.

Malkin getting hit, whining to the ref and then lallygagging back to play defense only to be rewarded with a cherry picking goal makes me irate, by the way.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Truth.  Nearly lost another remote control.

Whining like a farging flag is the new NHL in a nutshell.  You actually seem to get rewarded for acting like a bitch and Malkin certainly did.  Even though Biron had no shot at stopping that shot it would have been awesome if he had.

I was really disappointed in the effort last night.  They came out seriously flat, got two quickies from Richards and then sat back and allowed the Penguins to dictate play for the rest of the game.  Their passing wasn't crisp, they looked like their legs were dead, and the power play unit looked befuddled.

i have no problem with the malkin hanging back he made a smart play and richards went brain dead for a second...but something no one talked about is hossa taking a 10 foot run at richards and punching him in the face after the gawd destroyed malkin...i understand the penguins were already shorthanded but it was a penalty and took place four feet in front of the ref while he was literally staring at it...if its a hoof or some sort of interference penalty i can see letting it go but it was dirty retalitory thing and should have been called

i want hossa dead

also can anyone tell me why hatcher was taking shots to the face from farging malkin after the game was decided and did nothing he should have laced him

Too much emphasis on toe-ing the line. Not enough bloodlust.

IGY great point about Hossa, hell even Malkin retaliated

The biggest problem I had was having to listen to the VS. announcers felate Malkin at every possible moment. They did a 'Sidney Crosby' revealed prior to the game and had a Mario Lemiux suckfest at the 2nd intermission. And how many times did they have to point out 'this doesn't happen if Timonen is on the ice, and we're not picking on Randy Jones'.

Flyers need to concentrate on limiting the bad giveaways. The Pens have the type of forwards that can go from 0-40 in no time at all. Keep crashing the net on offense, because the Pens do a pretty good job of guarding the front of the net when the puck is at the point. I thought the Flyers started out well but made too many dumb mistakes. One thing I was thrilled about was it was an evenly called game. The other 2 series should have been called like lastnight was. Sure the Flyers got the brunt of the calls, but there was a lot of ticky-tack shtein I saw the refs let go.

The Flyers, other than Mike Richards, sucked last night.  Things have to improve dramatically if they are to win game 2, and I think they must win game 2 to have a chance in the series.

I have no doubt in my mind they're going to win tomorrow.  Seriously.  And I'm not being Johnny Homer here either.  I just have a feeling that after being embarrassed last night the veterans on the team are going for the throat.

No Timonen was very bad.

And Biron's hot streak is over.
