altho its like watching two new york teams play..impossible to root for anyone yet at least someone you hate is gonna lose...im on cables side here...seems to me that the nfl is trying to get people to care about a channel that a complete waste of air time by putting a few good games on it...in other words they have about 6 hrs of must see programming a year yet want everyone to carry it as tho its espn or something
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

I think the NFL is being very shortsighted and arrogant.  People love the NFL, but not so much that they'll pay a premium on top of what they're already paying just to get it.  People will just write off the games that the NFL puts on NFLN as "I'll read about it tomorrow."  Higher price = lower demand, even for the NFL.

i paid the extra, but it's for an entire sports tier, with extra Fox Sports Net channels that i can get extra college football and basketball.  even with that im only paying an extra 1.99 a month.  there is also the NHL network, which is pretty worthless except for the classic NHL they play.

but if they want to compete they need to improve their product, Bryant Gumbel is a joke of a play by play guy, he's simply awful

I don't think the NFL wants the customer to get all those other channels tho.  They certainly aren't marketing the "add us to your premium sports package to make our product seem less expensive" angle to the cable companies.

Wait, the NFL is acting arrogant and self-serving?

No wai.

This is exactly how I feel. The only regret I'll have is Thursday when the Packers play the Cowboys. And that's only because I'll have to watch it online.

how much more football and basketball do you get on the fox channels...csn down here carries a lot of fox cfb and cbb games...especially pac ten games...id pay 1.99 extra for a bunch of college games but im wondering if i dont get a lot of it already

CSN Philly carries a few FSN games too, so that's the same.  The FOX channels on the sports tier show awesome games like Montana/Montana State and Kent/Akron.

SunMo

actually, that's not true, they show a lot of pac 10 games

Last year there was maybe 1 game NFL Network had that was good. This year they lucked into getting 2 monster matchups. The whole money fight is over Comcast not getting Sunday Ticket. They've been trying for years to get it and are shoving it to the NFL because of the exclusive rights DirecTV has with the Ticket. Comcast getting the Ticket would essentially eliminate DirecTV from the landscape and Comcast would have even more of monopoly.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
