QuoteLoyal bloggers from each NFC East team have contributed to our 2007 NFC East Football Preview. They created a preview for their teams, a win-loss prediction for each game, predicted their team MVP, and projected the final standings in the NFC East for this upcoming season. Click on each team name to visit its page and read its season preview. You'll also find the latest news from local newspapers, team sites, and bloggers for each team.

The 2006 NFC East Final Standings
1) Philadelphia Eagles 10-6 5-1
2) Dallas Cowboys 9-7 2-4
3) New York Giants 8-8 4-2
4) Washington taterskins 5-11 1-5

The 2006 NFC East results cause questions for the upcoming season:

The Philadelphia Eagles finished the season on a five-game win streak and won the NFC East. Donovan McNabb returns to the lineup and has the opportunity to run the offense for the first time under Marty Morninweg's direction. The question always looms whether McNabb can stay healthy all year long. The Eagles will depend on his health since Jeff Garcia won't be his backup this year.

Tony Romo took over the QB position for the Cowboys midway through the season and was a huge success immediately. Teams finally caught up to him, but expectations continue to be huge in his first starting season. It will be interesting to see how the team reacts to Wade Phillips' philosophy.

The New York Giants were third in the division. They start their new running game this year without Tiki Barber. Will Brandon Jacobs make Giants' fans forget him quickly? Will he hold onto the ball this season? Will Eli Manning continue to develop and reach his potential?

Jason Campbell has all the weight on his shoulders in Washington this season. Joe Gibbs has had success with many quarterbacks. He hopes Campbell will be added to his list. Clinton Portis will need to stay healthy in order for him to be a huge asset to the offense.

The bloggers have given us their predictions, and this is how they see the 2007 NFC East unfolding:

1) Philadelphia Eagles
2) Dallas Cowboys
3) Washington taterskins
4) New York Giants

Once again, click on the team name to view its preseason preview and to vote for how the team will place this season. We want to thank all the contributors for their time and willingness to help us with our preview.

So I don't want to get into a big back and forth about this, but I think the taterskins improve this year while both the Giants and Cowboys take a step back.

The Skins have finally put together a little bit of continuity and their QB has some experience after being brought along slowly. They still have an outstanding defensive coordinator and even though their front 7 still aren't any good, the two have balanced each other out in the past.

The Giants lost their only consistent offensive threat. Tiki was also their only smidgen of class, and for a team that hates its coach, that missing class is going to hurt. Strahan looks like he's done. Plus they have Eli. They'll probably bring up the rear in the division.

The Cowboys changed coaches. Never good. They are still probably the most talented team on defense and pretty freaking close on offense, but they didn't put it together last year and discontinuity this year doesn't make me think that that will somehow change this season.

Another piece of evidence that shows you should have a certain post count before you can create threads.

Much as I hate to admit, I agree with your view on the Skins. With a healthy Clinton Portis, they have a pretty potent offeense. Campbell looks to be the best qb this team has had in a long while, and he'll probably get better.  Portis and Moss give Campbell two real good weapons. And if that isn't enough they also have what looks to me to be one of the leagues premire tight ends, Cooley. He had some really nice stats last year with 734 yards, 12.9 avg. and 6 td's. Those stats might drop a little this year with a healthy Portis back in the lineup. Even so, they look to have a future pro-bowler in Cooley to me.

I still believe they can be beat by the Eagles though.

1. Eagles
2. taterskins
3. Dallas
4. Giants

I picked the Skins second, but I feel Dallas will be right there with them in the Wild Card race.

The funny farging thing is they are going to have to do some serious juggling this year to keep Cooley around. I believe he is a FA after the season.

I'd love to see him in Philly, just no pictures of those farging shorts at TC.

there should have been some kind of fine assessed for that

Agreed that the Skins got better, but they did absolutely nothing to help their defensive line, which happened to be the worst part of their team last year. Their DBs are pretty average, Rogers is going to be real good but as of now he probably isn't. Springs is old and senile. We all know Taylor can't cover. Teams will throw all over them.

Don Ho

salisbury is already lapping up romo after his "incredible" performance the other night.  earth to sean, earth to sean, it's preseason.  preseason = vanilla ice cream, plain, no condiments, nothing, nada, zero, zilch, kaput.

Eli and Romo are roughly in the same realm IMO.

Magical_Retard

even if romo is better (which he might be) he has TO....a ticking time bomb which most likely will go off this season. even jack bauer could not stop that bomb from going off.

He did blow up. He led the league in TDs.
