Nick Nolte as Phil Elliott in North Dallas Forty.  He basically spent the entire movie drunk and high while at the same time giving the owner and coaches of the "Cowboys" the finger not to mention he farged the girlfriend of the owner's brother too.

Claude Raines as Inspector Renault in Casablanca.  Some of the greatest dialogue ever written.

If we're talking Jack Nicholson, I always thought his best role was the devil in The Witches of Eastwick.  The movie sucked dead mule dick, but that soliloquy in the church at the end was a farging riot.

Alec Baldwin in Glengarry Glen Ross.  "You see this watch?  This watch costs more than your car."  Come to think of it, everyone in that movie was awesome.

EDIT:  Almost forgot one.  Kathy Bates in Misery.  When she got brained at the end, the entire theater I was in, and I mean to a person, jumped up and cheered.  I saw her on Arsenio Hall about a month after I watched the movie, and got angry seeing her walk out.  Now THAT'S a performance.
