10:42 AM: A few commments after practice. First, injuries. The big news of the day was an update on L.J Smith. Head coach Andy Reid said Smith suffered a groin injury that was unrelated to his sports hernia, but was suffered in the same area. The seriousness was not elaborated on, and his condition will be closely looked at. Ironman tackle Jon Runyan left the practice early. The word from Andy Reid is back tightness, which at the moment doesn't sound too serious. Guard Scott Young also left practiceRJS might get his wish. A full injury report will follow soon on the site. Reid also announced this morning would be the last morning of live contact for the rest of training camp, ending a marathon ten-day stretch of morning practices with a hitting period. The afternoon practice will a special teams practice at 2:00 PM today. We'll be back this afternoon with a minute-by-minute update of the goings-on this afternoon.

remember during mcnabbs abdominal injury there were many times where they listed him with a groin injury...and even the final dallas injury was initially reported to be a groin tear

Oh, that bit about the unrelated injury to LJ is horseshtein.  One way or another, it's related.  And there's really no question about it.

If anyone expected LJ to play in preseason games, you're officially teh stoopid.

He was a long shot for the regular season opener and now with this latest flare up, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't make it back at all this year.  In fact, considering it's a contract year for him, you can pretty much guarantee he won't unless he's 100% which we know he won't be any time soon.

now i dont think they were purposely trying to get him hurt....but shawn andrews is in a WALKING BOOT AND CRUTCHES for a sprained ankle...and lj smith is thrown out there in full contact two a days two months after abdominal surgery

If anything, L.J. would be chomping at the bit to get out there.  He's the one who needs to play to get paid.

All the conspiracy theories about the extent of the evil in the Eagles' FO are hilarious, though, so let's up the stakes.  Wouldn't it be easier if L.J. was killed?  Then, NO ONE would blame the FO for not re-signing him.  Frankly, I think IGY should hire up some bad-ass bodyguards for his boy before it's too late.
