I like how Simon used some of the names of the real detectives from his book. Must be a thrill for those guys to be immortalized like that in a TV show.

Add in the fact that its a great series to my love for following book characters and this is heaven.

a few of them are actually in the show as well

one thing youll realize after watching is that the show is not about the wire or drugs or police or politics or schools...the show is about baltimore...thats the central character

Well shtein...I finished off Season One last night. I was up until 5am...no joke whoever said the show was like crack. I could not go to bed because it kept getting better and better with each episode.

I won't get too much into specifics since Sun and SD haven't seen it all the way through yet, but this series was put together great.

I noticed that George Pelecanos helped with the show too; he's a pretty good crime author out of DC.

I've seen every episode and have watched season 1 twice. Sun on the other hand is a cherry.

so, i finished the 12 episodes that HBO has on demand for season 1, and it didn't feel complete...i just checked and realized that there are 13 eps in season 1...WTF
