Do you really think anyone here gives two shteins who replaces Dhani?

Whether it's Gocong or Stewie... doesn't matter in the least.

i cant believe you really believe this...it doesnt matter who replaces him?...for real?

imo thats pretty ignorant...is the standard so low that we are happy with anyone replacing dhani...i cant get behind that line of thinking...i want a great replacement...so yes it does matter...because dhani stinks shouldnt let the eagles get away with making retarded draft choices...

besides theres no guarantee that gocong and/or bradley are better than dhani

You missed my point.

We all want a whole lot more than what we were getting from Dhani.  My point is that no one here cares whether it's Gocong that gives us more or if it's Stewie that gives us more.  Just that the position improves.

There's no more allegiance to Gocong than there is now to Bradley... as long as someone steps in and plays well, or at least provides some noticeable improvement over the bowtie.

You must be in a great mood this morning because "solid" is being extremely generous.  How solid could he have been if like Phreak said, JJ regulary either gave him safety help or just put a safety over the TE altogether?

theres very few sams in the nfl that dont need help covering TE's...thats why TE's are receivers and linebakers are tacklers...linebackers arent made to run all over the field chasing pass catchers...the eagles were spoiled with emmons he was phenominal in coverage...dhani was sufficient in pass coverage...and if you think he wasnt then wait till chris gocong is running around the field with jeremy shockey

Question:  How can you be so sure that Gocong and/or Bradley can't do the job?

Because he's IGY, prodigy of the great Chris Steuber.

Back on topic a bit, has anyone ever seen the dude play? Have video?

The only thing I saw was when Mayock was breaking him down and he was steady blowing up FBs in the running lane. Big dude. Mayock didn't show too much video of him making plays in space, but he did have a nice clip of Stewie flowing to the ball on a run to the outside, shedding a guard and drilling the back.

im not 100% sure on bradley...granted i dont like at all what ive read and seen from him but he could easily be a player and prove me wrong

as for gocong ive stated many times why i dont think theres a chance in hell he can play that position

the sam position is hard enough to master if its your natual slot...i dont see a div II DE converting to nfl sam...i also dont like at all what i saw of him in camp last year (granted one weekends worth of practices)...both in body type and the way he moved

i absolutely dont know as much as steuber...unless hes a bold faced liar and doesnt actually study players...but the fact that he sees more of players as he should beign that its his "job' then he knows more

i read up on and watch a player then make a judgement on him...and if i see the guy i know just as much as heckert reid kiper mayock ect...and if stueber or you or feva or sun or pg or ff see the guy they know just as much as me...this isnt rocket science...any idiot can grade a football player provided you know his measurables and have seen him play

It's so funny how much enjoyment people here get from busting IGY's balls. He speaks in hyperbole but his point is dead farging on.

You ask how he knows that Bradley/Gocong can't get the job done. How do any of you know that they CAN get it done? Neither of them have EVER seen ANY playing time in the NFL. For all intents and purposes they are both rookies and the coaches are just throwing them in as starters. The excitement everyone is displaying about that situation makes no sense to me.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

You're making my point for me.

I'm not saying they can or they can't do the job.  Infact, IGY's the only one speaking in definites and that's what I have the problem with.

I don't give a shtein if he, you or anyone else thinks they can't play worth a damn.  All I ask is to have something more than a hunch to sound so sure about it one way or the other.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Emmons a converted DE?

i never said a DE couldnt convert to LB just that gocong cant

emmons played linebacker and DE in college

emmons also is 6-5 240's and smooth as butter

gocong is like 265 and doughy

i dont know about you but i dont want a 265 lb converted div II DE playing sam....if gocong ends up being a productive edge rusher in the elague then great altho i even question that...but as for being a linebacker im sorry its just not there...

Infact, IGY's the only one speaking in definites and that's what I have the problem with.

i dont see the big deal....i feel strongly about it...if you feel as tho the guy is gonna be a big time player you should say the same

it has much more to do with me saying an eagle player sucks than it does my speaking in definites...when i speak in definites about an eagle player in a positive way i dont hear any uproar from the peanut gallery

I think the odds that Dhani would be an above average SAM for the Eagles this year are 0%.

The odds that the new starter, either Gocong or Bradley, will be above average are more like 10%.

I'll take it.

1. 40 times mean jack shtein. They should either a] do away with them or b] make them run in pads. When does a 40 time come into play during a game? Maybe when a return guy has a clean lane and thats it. Even for RBs and WRs it doesn't mean shtein.

2. If Gocong or Bradley can cover, then its fine. Dhani couldn't cover, he couldn't take on blockers and he couldn't do anything else. Trotter said to Gargano that he would constantly tell Dhani to just eat up blockers and he wouldn't do it. And go back and look how JJ ran his coverages when Emmons was here versus what he had to do with Dhani - Emmons would line up against the TE many times. Eventually, once JJ figured it out, he had to start putting Dawk or LEwis in there to help or just letting a safety cover the TE by themselves.

So lets see how the cracka's do. It cannot be any worse than the intellectual shteinbag

trotter is in no real position to talk here considering his play last season.

So? Whats his play got to do with pointing out that Dhani sucked? None of us are NFLers and we point out he sucks, why can't a guy who lines up next to him come out and say it?

And IGY, did I read you say that Jones was solid in coverage? Crazy talk.

ice grillin you

i was thinking today that this guy needs to come to camp with a urlacher type buzz cut...maybe even a fade...

it would go a long way in gaining himself some respectability and he might even pass the look test if he did...at least hed give himself a chance to...

unfortunately i have a feeling hes gonna be running around with a pony tail ala a pro tennis player from portugal
