You weren't expecting the EAGLES to draft a lineman? :sly

Yeah, what the h-e double hockey sticks was I thinking?

My pissed offedness came more from the fact that this was not an identified position of need for the Eagles.

yes it was.

You're kidding right?

Who or where did you see anybody listing DE as a need for the eagles?

Where did you see that as a need above S, LB, RB, or Corner?

Dillen

Um...just about everybody knew the Eagles had a need at DE. Unless you consider having two DEs on the wrong side of 30 with an injury history, one player who has shown he cant stand a lot of snaps the entire season, and another showing he can only be a pass rush specialist while at age 29, a safe position. Because the Eagles always draft for the present and not the future.

uhhhh you could go many places to find it as a need if you wanted to... try NFL draft countdown, Sporting News, whatever you want..... The need comes from Jevon Kearse coming off a severe injury and Darren Howard disapearing altogether.   McDougle is a waste of space,  Trent Cole is a good player and Juqua Thomas is a nice backup, but there are big questions at the DE position.

Rome

DE was a definite need down the line.  Kearse is done and Howard is garbage.  That leaves Killa & Jooookway as the starters.  Is that what everyone wants here?

good pick...definitely an area of need. :yay

Whatever man...just remember this conversation when we are starring at that huge hole at safety left by MLewis this season.

Remember that when the eagles are calling a bootleg on second and inches.

Remember that the next time the entire defense gets pushed five yards into the endzone because nobody can tackle.

and most of all remember that when Dhani Jones is playing air guitar after making his one assist on a tackle this season.

General_Failure

Dhani wasn't getting replaced by a draft pick. They're not changing their whole defensive philosophy just because he sucks. He's sucked for years!

The man. The myth. The legend.

The BIGSTUD

If Abiamiri sucks and Spencer is a stud then the Eagles will never hear the end of it and rightfully so.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

QuoteStrengths:
An excellent athlete with great quickness and a burst...Has pretty good size with long arms and the frame to get bigger...Was very productive...Packs a good initial punch...Strong and stout at the point...Versatile and is fluid enough to drop into coverage...Great pass rusher who can terrorize quarterbacks...Solid tackler with good range and will make plays in pursuit...Is smart and a hard worker with great intangibles...A ton of experience against top competition...Still has a lot of upside.

Weaknesses:
Needs to add some weight...Did a lot of his damage against weak competition...Is still somewhat raw and needs to refine his technique...Timed speed is adequate but not special...Inconsistent and a bit of an underachiever who does not always play up to his talent level...Struggles to shed blockers...Minor durability concerns.

Notes:
Was a highly-regarded recruit coming out of high school...Might be looked at as a potential outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme...Really made a name for himself in the scouting community when he dominated Winston Justice in '05...He certainly passes the eyeball test and has everything that you look for physically...An even better pro prospect than Justin Tuck was and the scary part is he's still improving.

At this point Dhani could be replaced by a bag of balls with the K on them.

What we know for sure is that Dhani will not be replaced this year.

Change their defensive philosophy?  Change it to what?  Actually playing somebody with a pulse at the position?

They drafted Gocong last year with the intent to convert him to a LB.  That sure seemed like a change in their defensive philosophy.

Look I am not saying it is a bad pick just that it is more of the same.

Yes. They've shown repeatedly they don't give a crap about the LBs. Their best attempts at getting players there have been to resign Trotter and get Takeo Spikes.

nobody said there are not other needs on the team, only that DE is one of them.  Is that hard to understand?  Jesus.
