Knig is a misspelling.

Knight means that have no idea what the dude's name is.

Right.  None at all.  Got it.

Three PFs to go with Shavlik.  PLAYOFFS

King is saying in his press conference that the team you see isn't the one that will start the season....more moves to make

7'0" PF whitey Jason Smith from Colorado State too.....4 guys.  Daequan Cook was drafted at #21 and swapped with a 2009 2nd-rd pick to Miami for Smith

wait, isn't it 5 guys then?  young, smith, byars, and then the ukraine dude and finland dude.

bowzer

thad young, jason smith, byars, and herbert hill.  no foreignors.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Who was it that was saying they didn't want any more F/G hybrid guys, because Iguodala and Carney are around?

Hilarious.  Besides the massive white guy, that's all they got, right?

I guess you gotta stick with what you know

QuoteWednesday afternoon, the Sixers concluded what head coach Maurice Cheeks called a "high level workout." All four of the participants (Derrick Byars, Glen Davis, Jason Smith and Thaddeus Young) are potential first round picks, so the level of competition was high.

kinda strange that they actually got 3 out of the 4 people from the same workout.

I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

This draft has "average" written all over it. I liked the Thaddeus Young pick, I've wanted him since the lottery happened, but it really wasn't a need. Jason Smith is a decent pick I guess, but it would have been nice to get an inside guy instead of a soft PF. Byars at 42 is amazing value, but what the hell are they going to do with him? They now have five 1st round caliber SG/SF on the team with him, Young, Iguodala, Carney and Korver. I didn't see the Herb Hill thing, but that I am very happy with.

i like the young & smith picks...and i like how they traded #30 & 38 for worse picks in order to save some $$$.  that shows a real comittment to winning. :yay

This team seems allergic to foreign players. They'll draft them and then promptly get rid of them...no development time overseas or anything...just "give us our damn hat back and get outta here".

I'm not overwhelmed or anything, but I would have preferred Thornton. I don't know much about Young to be honest. And hopefully Smith pans out as someone who can help on the boards.

I was pissed that Big Baby went at 35 and now is in Boston though.

Speaking of Boston...how ignorant is Danny Ainge? Its funny to watch that chowdahead operate up there. I wonder what Simmons will have to say this morning...

Seattle tore it up...

BigEd76

So did Portland.  They got 8 new players in a span of 4 hours...

Young is a good slasher and shooter. He's decent on defense and racks up a lot of steals. He's a pretty good rebounder with his athleticism and length. I would have been fine with Thornton or Young, but Young was a personal favorite of mine. It's odd, last year the day of the lottery I wanted Rodney Carney, and this year I wanted Thad Young. I should have picked someone like Brandan Wright.

Some of the NBA trades are so stupid. I don't understand why Miami wouldn't just take Cook in the first place. The 76ers benefited from that trade, so whatever.

Ainge is a farging moron. They tank the entire season only to get a 32 year old gunner SG who makes like $15M a year. :-D

PhillyPhreak54

And whats up with GS giving up JRich for Wright? I dont know if I'd like that if I were a Warriors fan.

Dillen

I'm assuming they wanted to move him because they drafted Belinelli, but they really need to re-sign Pietrus now.

Wright is a perfect fit for their team, however. So is Belinelli. They had a real good draft.

I just checked the EMB 76ers thread. What a mess that was last night. Some of the people there are so farging annoying.
