First of all, they won 6-0, so yes, it was one of their best games of the season.  They had great pitching, timely hitting and played great defense behind Moyer.

Secondly, I know full well what this team is.  I don't need you to express your usual bloated and bombastic opinions to remind me of what they are and what they represent.

Finally, I never once suggested anything of the sort regarding them reaching the playoffs.  The Phillies don't have a prayer of winning the Pennant much less the World Series with the grotesque pitching staff they have.  As I've said numerous times to you in the past... just because I don't think they can win the World Series doesn't mean I won't cheer for them like hell all season and express joy when they win.  That's what fans do, IGY.  Stop being such a joyless pessimistic douchebag, already.

Since there aren't guaranteed contracts or a salary cap penalty, what would be the financial benefit of just releasing Burrell? I remember hearing he had a $5 million buy-out clause but I may be mistaken. Regardless, with Gordon, Garcia, and Leiber coming off the books next season, they should have some free money to spend on pitching.
