Milton Bradley + Phillies fans = bomb waiting to go off.

Although it would be exciting when he leaps into the stands and pounds Joe from Fishtown because he's getting heckled all night long.

Why does he repeat the stuff in italics in regular print?

Hahaha:
QuoteHugh would be called an "innings eater" today and make $7 million a year.

That happens all the time, FF.  It's a website issue not Conlin repeating himself.

PS: @ Geo... look at the names you listed.  Now, multiple that list by about 100 and you'll have the number of pitchers who were brought up before they were ready and ended up flaming out.

Same could be said for 100s of pitchers that come up at 25.

Wingspan

The only reason they would be brought up at 20ish anyway would be because they would be considered a phenom of sorts, or at least a projected ace or high #2?

I would imagine that the success rate of pitchers brought up at 19-22 is a higher success rate than those brought up at 23 and older.

Phils face 0-8 Anthony Reyes tonight. And notorious Phillie-killer Kip Wells (who Ed Wade had a hard on for and offered Ryan Howard for him, thanks Pittsburgh for being dumber than Ed Wade) on Sunday.

Any doubt those two baffle this offense?

QuotePhillies sign lefthander Romero
By Todd Zolecki
INQUIRER STAFF WRITER
ST. LOUIS - The Phillies have signed free-agent lefthander J.C. Romero to a minor-league contract.

Romero, 31, will spend the immediate future working out with the rookie-level Gulf Coast League Phillies, but the Phillies hope Romero can help them at the big-league level at some point.

He went 1-0 with a 3.15 earned run average in 23 appearances this season for the Boston Red Sox, but he also allowed 24 hits and 15 walks in 20 innings. He walked more batters than he struck out (11).

The Red Sox released Romero, who had been designated for assignment, on June 19

romero was one of the best middle relievrs in the majors a few years ago...not sure exactly why he fell off the map but i like the idea of taking a shot at him

I like it too. Hell, I'm all for the sign anyone you can and see if they can stick approach because the BP is such a joke. Also, and not that it matters much, but Zolecki says in his blog that Matt Smith has been shut down in AAA because of elbow trouble.

its not that their loyal. they fawn of the cardinals like a bunch of teenage girls do to nelly or whatever the farg they like these days.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

ice grillin you

they dont even fawn cause everyone in the stadium is 50 and older...they no matter what go CRAZY for a cardinal good play...regardless of the score....they didnt even boo encarcion on that hideous play earlier

kinda reminds me of easy and the fightins

also joe buck on cardinal broadcasts is so much better than the fox games...like a different announcer...very good stuff
