dont you think theres a reason hes 31 and has been a starter once in his career....its because he sucks in the field and isnt that good of a hitter....hes a bench guy...he has no business starting in the major leagues...his fielding makes him a huge detriment...

well, i don't remember there being much 3rd base help out there this offseason, so it's either Helms or Nunez

id rather have nunez the primary starter.....runs are the farthest thing from the phillies problem and its not like helms is a run producer anyway

overall, he's done a pretty good job considering what he had to work with after Wade.  i don't know what you can do about the fielding though, you can't take Utely or Howard out of the lineup, and you don't get enough production from the outfield to be able to put a good fielder at 3rd instead of Helms

Gillick has put together 2/3 of this outfield together. Been handcuffed with Burrell...but as far as Victorino and Rowand, they are here by gillicks hand...or his choice to keep them here.

With Kenny Rogers out for a few months, you think the Phils could put together some sort of deal that would send Lieber to Det in exchange for Polanco?  Maybe Leiber, Helms, throw in player/pick/cash?

He renegotiated with Chicago before FA, so he wasn't really available.  As for the bullpen, Gillick claims that he's been trying to fix it but teams aren't trading anyone that's somewhat decent like Linebrink or Shields, so we're stuck with what we have.  Looks like he passed on Villone and Rincon too....

except they offered soriano a billion dollars and altho possible i cant believe signing soriano would have meant the certain end of utley howard or myers...but even if it did i didnt hear too many people who were against getting soriano
