but really they should have signed polanco long term and put him at third

With Kenny Rogers out for a few months, you think the Phils could put together some sort of deal that would send Lieber to Det in exchange for Polanco?  Maybe Leiber, Helms, throw in player/pick/cash?

Not sure how serious this is as a question, but MLB teams cannot trade draft picks.

Semi-serious.  Didn't know that draft picks couldn't be traded though.  But still.....is there any type of deal that the Phils could put together to pry Polanco loose from Detroit with any combo of players, prospects or cash?

From everything I've heard, Detroit is quite happy with Polanco and not likely to deal him.  He had a good year last year, and only a fool would want to part with him.  Which is why he's not on the Phillies right now.

I don't doubt that for a second.  I was/still am pissed at the Phils for trading him.  He was one of my favorite players.  I just didn't know if Det was in any type of panic mode with the sudden loss of Rogers and if the Phils had anything available that would be of interest to them.  Hell, throw Burrell in there with Leiber and Helms just for the hell of it.

Like the sucker I am I'll be back down there for todays game, get the brooms out. I have a feeling Eaton's not lasting till the 5th.
All to easy.

Froze my ass off today to watch that disgrace. Wound up at McFaddens by the 5th inning, 3/4 of the fans were in there.

I was thinking to myself today I'm glad Burrell is doing half decent so the fans throw the blame on the other players who are responsible.

I cannot begin to describe how cold it was there. I swear that it was colder than any Eagles game I have ever been to. Mike, I was all the way up in 316 and we stayed for every damn pitch of that abortion. I was numb by the time Ruiz ended that little rally by popping out.

How many weak fly balls were hit to RF today by the Phils? Seemed like about 62 of them.

1. Howard heard the boos today.

2. Bourn is a fast ass motherfarger

3. The highlight of the day was the booing of Pat Burrell...and the "BUR-RELL SUCKS...BUR-RELL SUCKS" chant  that was extremely loud in the 8th inning.

4. I had some Burrell defender sitting behind me and we got into a pretty good argument. I think BillyBeane is the spawn of this dude. Holy shtein was he sucking Pat off.

5. Cold. Snowing. Windy. Freezing. Holy farg.

6. Condrey pitched well (2 IP 5 K's) and so did 6-fingers Alfonseca. Get rid of Madson.

7. Howards throw in the first was a beaut. Especially since I was right on top of the 1B line...dude has this sidearm flick throwing motion and as soon as he pivoted I told my boy...he's throwing it away.

The best news of the season is that I've yet to suffer through a TV broadcast. Missed two games because of work, went to one. I win. Bahaha.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

After we left McFaddens around the 6th we walked down to row 2 of section 113. The Staff didn't give two shteins since it was so cold and nobody was down there anyways. We were right next to the guy with the black shirt that ran on the field to retrieve a ball and was ejected. We stayed the entire time too cause our ride didn't want to leave. We got even better news when we got to the parking lot, the car we came down in had a flat with a spare and a jack but nothing to take the lugs off with. AAA was there in under 5 minutes...no shtein.

Howard had 2 singles in the first game. How is that a slump of 3 games?

hes 0-11 since those two singles
no rbi
10 LOB

and generally has looked weak as shtein....to top it off he blows in the field and has two errors already

Wouldn't mediocrity imply that they win every now and then?
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

The best part of yesterday's game was getting 2 runs in the 9th...on 6 walks and no hits. And then Ruiz popped up on the first pitch to end the game.

I was getting ready to watch the Flyers at the pub and they had the end of the game on.  My buddy's a bartender there and he's a Philly guy so we were watching the game together.  Anyway, just as Ruiz steps into the box, he says to me, 'watch this, he'll swing at the first farging pitch.'  Sure enough...
