It's simple for me:

1.  Hendrix was great, but (truth) he's overrated because he died young.  As you've noticed throughout this tourney, a band/musician being overrated is enough for me to vote against them, no matter who the competition.
2.  I enjoy listening to GnR stuff more often than Hendrix.  I own both (as any heterosexual male with decent music tastes should), but GnR's stuff fits my mood more.
3.  I know plenty of people who have barely even heard Hendrix will vote for him because it's "cool".

GnR wins.

The other one was tough, because Metallica is at the forefront of the whiny music industry, but Zeppelin has the icon/overrated thing going on.  Ultimately, I voted for Zeppelin for the exact opposite reason as the Hendrix/GnR matchup... their music is more technically brilliant and groundbreaking.  I voted against Metallica, despite the fact I listen to them more than Zeppelin... because they're a bunch of whiny douches.

Axel was a better songwriter than Hendrix. Thats the only reason, Guns n Roses got my vote. Hendrix wrote about mermaids and crazy shtein, which is cool in itself, but didn't have too much emotion in it, unless your stoned.

Metallica and Led Zeppelin. Thats quite easy, Metallica was a good band once, and then sucked and continue to suck even worse. Led Zeppelin didn't age so well themselves, but I can listen to the older stuff.  The point is here, Led Zeppelin influenced so many bands during and after them. They started metal and heavy rock. They wrote all kinds of different songs and had a very unique sound. one of the best drummers ever, one of the best guitarists ever, and a singer who could hit all the notes. They are leagues above Metallica
